I will be trying for a repeat title run on this tournament in less then a week. This tournament has a very unique format that has been getting bigger every year in our area. Next year it will more then likely be a Two day event which will be great. Look at the link below to see the format if you like. www.40kambassadors.com/You can read about the missions as they are all different and tend to make you build a more balanced list. Some times that is. I will have Pictures up of my list soon. We will get to see the other players lists normally a few days before the tournament. My list is just a big hammer for the most part. Lots of St. 6 shooting with MC. The deployment option are very flexible. It should be able to handle a wide verity of list and conditions. It is week on scoring with no OS units but most of the unit can clear out small scoring unit by them selves if needed. The pods can give a surprising amount of shoots in to a unit if grouped properly. My List: +++ Elven Ambassador Tournament (2000pts) +++ ++ Tyranids: Codex (2014) (Combined Arms Detachment) (1545pts) ++ Tyrannocyte 5x Deathspitters Tyrannocyte 5x Deathspitters Tyrannocyte 5x Deathspitters + HQ (460pts) + Hive Tyrant [Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Wings] Hive Tyrant [Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Wings] + Elites (95pts) + Lictor Brood [Lictor] Venomthrope Brood [Venomthrope] + Troops + Mucolid Spore Cluster [Mucolid Spore] Mucolid Spore Cluster [Mucolid Spore] + Fast Attack (285pts) + Spore Mine Cluster [5x Spore Mine] Tyranid Shrike Brood Tyranid Shrike [Adrenal Glands, Devourer, Flesh Hooks, Lashwhip & Boneswords, Toxin Sacs] Tyranid Shrike [Adrenal Glands, Devourer, Flesh Hooks, Lashwhip & Boneswords, Toxin Sacs] Tyranid Shrike [Adrenal Glands, Devourer, Flesh Hooks, Rending Claws, Toxin Sacs] Tyranid Shrike [Adrenal Glands, Devourer, Flesh Hooks, Rending Claws, Toxin Sacs] Tyranid Shrike [Adrenal Glands, Devourer, Flesh Hooks, Rending Claws, Toxin Sacs] + Heavy Support + Carnifex Brood Carnifex [Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms] Carnifex Brood Carnifex [Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms] Carnifex Brood Carnifex [Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms] + Fortification (70pts) + Aegis Defense Line [Comms Relay ++ Tyranids: Codex (2014) ( Allied Detachment) (385pts) ++ + HQ + Hive Tyrant [Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Twin-linked Devourer with Brainleech Worms, Wings] + Troops + Mucolid Spore Cluster [Mucolid Spore] + Heavy Support + Mawloc If you like the list is in the army section at the link below. THey have finaly listed the possible oppoents two day. Here's the link. www.40kambassadors.com/rosters.phpThere are two brackets. Bracket::1 is, Tyranids •Adepta Sororitas •Astra Militarum •Blood Angels •Chaos Space Marines •Dark Angels =Matt •Dark Eldar •Eldar Craftworlds ◦Alex •Grey Knights •Khornate Daemonkin •Militarum Tempestus •Necrons •Orks •Tau Empire ◦Ryan Bracket:: 2; Adeptus Astartes: SM Astra Militarum Blood Angels Chaos Daemons Dark Angels Dark Eldar Eldar Craftworlds Necrons Orks I have placed names by the army's that I know who is playing them if there is two of that army. What do you think for the first round which army is the biggest worry. I feel the gray knights, orks, dark eldar, eldar and Necrons are the biggest threats. The double Corpses cart formation with all the talos really scars me, to tell the truth. I have seen just one in action and it is scary for Tyranids. Both ork armies have lots of bodies and some good mobility. Eldar is good as well but I feel decent about handling them. Some of the other I don't know. The Necrons are going to be hard to bring down with all the troops it is taking, That could be rough. What do you guys think?

I think you're playing ground based nids (only 2 flyrants, lot of points tied up in fexes and shrikes and pods) and you're going to maybe have a rough go at it, but this is a unique format and you are an experienced player and should make a good showing.
Best of luck, man.

Best of luck, man. I have 3 tyrant with 3 fex in spores. SO for sure not a Air force. But not really ground nids either. I played with 2 tyrants and a crone other wise ground nids last year and won. It is possible that's for sure. Any list that you be leery of.?

oh, i missed the third one, sorry. was phoneposting. your list is actually pretty similar to what i've been running at 1850, with shrikes and a coms/aegis added in.
honestly, i'd still be leery of the usual suspects.
the welfare lists can be easy to wrack up killpoints on, but hard to win against (was reading about a DA double strike force at 2k with 700 points of free vehicles) as they have multiple MSU/combat squadded units and still have plenty of grav/plasma/melta/whatever. even heavy bolters provide volume of fire (and they're cheap).
eldar, especially if it's unrestricted eldar, is still stupid (3-5 WK on a skyshield, backed up by bikes and spiders, with dcannon vaul's).
i havent' faced war convocation, but it sounds heinous.
crons are crons.
i noticed you don't have egrubs on your flyrants. are you just relying on massed S6 and getting rear/side shots on knights? really not that much different as far as six S6 TL shots vs. egrubs on AV12, but bad positioning and your'e stuck with nothing to do vs. AV13 (if you can't fly over). regular land raiders probably not a concern, but no SH tanks at this event?

You can only take unit's that are in your codex // data slates that apply to your codex. The theme of the tournament is pure race armies.(NO battle brother or super-friends!!!!) It is very different from the ITC which is a bit of the draw for this tournament. Also you will never play the same army twice.( that may change next year as we will have two brackets with 5 games over 2 days. Even then you will only play the same army twice maybe in the final. The tournament has some different rules. IK are not allowed as of yet. one of the missions is a auto lose for them since they can't take Allies in the format they can only play what's in their codex. I have never really used E-Grubs personally. I always forget them in most of my games when I had them. So I been playing with out them. I have to plan my flight paths a little better. Other than that, I have never had a game where I was wishing I had them. I understand their possibilities but I have found other option to replace them. Vs 12 I would rather have the chance for the extra 6's then the almost guaranteed 1 hull point.( My name is Chancy so I tend to like taking chances... lol)

IK not allowed changes things up a bit for sure.
do you know what the DA and SM guys are playing? at 2k points, you're looking at potentially facing 2.5-2.7k worth of opposition from either faction.
egrubs are so useful, it's hard to overstate their utility. no escape! hits xenos transports really hard, and is an answer to things we can't normally easily deal with (i killed a spartan in two rounds with 3 flyrants once).
best of luck!

The extra restrictions on List Construction make a Battle Company impossible, fortunately. Also, the double CorpseThief Claw and the triple WraithKnight lists are in the other bracket, so we don't have to worry about them at least.
Truth be told, tho, even with only a single WraithKnight in the list, my ideal plan for dealing with the Eldar is hoping that someone with a better matchup against him takes him out first. I really don't have great tools there, and I know he's a better Player than I am

oh, i see that. quirky event, for sure.
in that case you're looking at what, bikestar/librarius, podded cents and...what else i guess is determined by how you read their army construction rules. are WD and other formations (i.e. skyhammer and stuff from shield of baal, like hive fleet detachment) kosher? i know you guys have talked about this before, but i am fuzzy on exactly what you can/can't put in.

There is a SkyHammer. Other than the Detachment limits, no Stronghold Assault/Escalation, and no Forge World, it's pretty much anything goes. It's definitely a weird set of restrictions.
Honestly, the Eldar lists are the only ones that really scare me. Plenty of the rest are strong, but I feel like I've got the tools for them, and if I bring my A-game and don't get screwed over by the dice, I can handle them.

yeah have fun w/ 3-5 WK on a skyshield. because that's hilarious and real fun to play against lol. i know you guys have said before it's a good/fun event, i dunno about these restrictions though. w/e, the rules are what they are for the event. work out.

I think the TO has played too long in a rather limited Meta, and doesn't really understand the full scope of what's out there, and the Meta he's actually creating through his restrictions. It's mostly a fun event because it's historically been a fun group of people, we'll see if that continues as it grows.

The TO will get to see how thing balance with some of the extreme list in the 2 bracket. I do like the Idea of a tournament where you play just your own codex// With limited FW LoW stuff. This one limits you to what you have in Codex but not all Codex ae treated equal. I like the mission mix and in a way prefer them over the ITC which I feel has made them a little to bland with the new adjustment they did.
Personally I think the 3 wraith knight list will have issues with the mission 3 with no elites he is giving up 9 point right of the bat, and with only two 5 man squads in the fast attack and only one in the heavy he is looking at 27 fairly easy points to me. the rest could be a little hard to get but the other Eldar list to me is scarier.

eldar, especially if it's unrestricted eldar, is still stupid From Know No Mercy Tournament Report Well at lest they don't have a High Rate of Fire on the Wraith Knights. It cool to see the models as they look great. but the army book has so any good build it is sad people only focus on the bikes and the Wraith Knight. I think a army with mainly warp spiders would counter WK Spam quite nicely while being able to kill everything else. Put a army of 40 to 50 spiders and see people complain. Are warp spider in plastic?? if so I may think about doing this. Sounds fun to me.
