Some nice rules. I will probaly not get to look through it all in the near future so I will just remark on some of the entries. I have made my own careful points change to the existing codex, if theres interest I can post/pm it here.
Feeder tendrils makes you reroll to wound.
Kinda redundant with Toxin SacsBrainleech devourers are not worse than before. make them assault 4 or at least S 4. remember you are now rerolling to wound and its the cheapest choice.
Okay, I'll think on this.Hive tyrant
winged with devourer still seem the best way to go. The tyrant needs to be cheaper and the wings costlier. having it flying makes it a new model (almost).
This I like.Tyranid prime
not sure on the points but nice changes
Thanks!Tervigon
the backlash should be removed or is fine with 12". I liked the backlash but it feels like a relic from the 5th tervigon where it had a permanent buff on gants.
to be honest I like the idea from the necrons where you spawn into existing units a lot more than the random unit generation. I I redid the codex I would make it so.
Minions rubs me the wrong way maybe critters are better. I like it needs only 20 models to be troop now.
True, but outflanking or podding it in and all of a sudden there's another unit popping out of it is such a cool and unique mechanic it would be criminal to take it away despite how much it makes sense to do so. I added the Progenitor power as an always have power in addition to one other rolled power so that option is always there if you want it.Genestealers
maybe calling "? ? ?" Adaption? I think I would add the child of cryptus as the HQ option with dominion mostly for ease of use (me and the opponent).
That's not quite right. They're more preparing an ambush or lurking in shadows. That's not a bad idea about Cryptus either, I'll think on that too.Ymgarls lack their previous limit in predetermined placement in terrain. Now they arrive where ever and charges. They could have "may be revealed(does not scatter) in any dificult terrain piece and may assault any unit in terrain on turn of arrival. that should make the opponent wary of terrain and not just waiting for ymgarl drop.
That's a really good idea. Give them the BroodLord Hunting Pack rule for any terrain, I like that, that's so much easier!Hormagaunts
copy the eldar and make them have +3" on run and assault. beast as troops seems to good, they are already really fast and . I like the agile predator if theres one army that shouldn't care about terrain its the nids.
Zoanthropes
Zoanthropes are nice but remember book keeping is boring, I would make the Brood hive mind work like this for ease of use: A Zoanthrope brood rolls 1 + brood size for known psychic powers (neuro adds Spirit leech/1 roll). If a model die remove 1 psychic power(your choice), if Neurothrope dies remove spirit leech/an additional power.
I strongly recommend to leave the during deployment rule out. Zoans are smart not trained in tactical combat, leave it for the marines.
Brilliant! Done!Lictors
Just to mention its awesome
Thanks!
Maleceptor
Seems a bit expensive, 160?. I would make it BS 4, 5 more than the hive tyrant. 4+ save makes sense fluff wise, Give it a 4++ invul instead.
That makes more sense. Not sure about the point cost though.... Will think on thatMalanthrope
Needs nerf. do it for the balance. a 4+ save maybe 3 wounds, Grasping tail and synapse rule removement and a point change (80?) as brainstorm.
A balancing between this and the venomthropes is needed. A player still has no reason to take a venome when a malan is availible. I'll work on that.Shrikes
Let their wings take up and arm slot (like the models), possibly an 4+ save to make up for it. I would remove the Biocannons big and heavy seems wrong on light and fast. Make them 25 points for ease of list building.
I was thinking that for the heavy cannons. 25 points would make it nice a clean. Yeah.Raveners
I would simply remove the subterranean assault rule. Dont make every unit to complex. If you want to do it let them have a mini version of the Mawloc with "S 6 ap 4 small blast" with scatter for each model and an assult on arrival rule (no landing on top). (this seems OP but you either blasts or assault them)
the main gripe I have with deep strike on them as assault is the moving of the opponents models, try playing it out on a table its really problematic and time consuming.
Making it K.I.S.S. and the issues with model moving is problematic. I'll rework it.Harpy
Nice rule, doesnt seem too good.
Just trying to make that sonic screech work. Trygon
nice work but still room for improvement. Make the devasting assault a may charge on arrival instead. Someone having a Trygon up under them should take damage and again the moving of a lot of models. What happens if some of them cant be replaced?
Could make it much simpilar, if it scatters onto a unit they have to take a test or suffer strike down.make the units in reserve arrive automatictally in the next turn witout rolling, You still roll for the Trygon.
Yup/Your ? ? ? rule should be a formation thing. (its really close to the old trygon "subterranean assault formation" from apoc. ^^) Good work.
Mawloc
Have it reroll the scatter when deep striking missing is what kills this unit. alternatively you could play with the lictor, pheromone trail range.
I think I'll play with its interaction with lictors. Maybe doesn't scatter within 12"?Exocrine
Remove the "may take monstrous bio weapons". It requires way to much modding of the model. I feel this is a model wish. The units options is okay as is.
I don't follow. Just swap out the scything talons with MC weapons that come on the spur. Doesn't seem any more difficult then giving a Fex double devourers.Toxicrene
predatory sentience, how does it work when it attacks a group with only some wounded models? does it work as intended? more to get you thinking than giving me an answer but I do think its unclear.
The idea behind that is models with an open wound or a hull breach allows the Nid spore to get under their skin/armour and start growing. Models with one wound are already dead when this happens so it doesn't matter.Swarm lord
I would remove the ? ? ? rule. The swarm lord can die but never truly die as it will respawn and adapt. Its more a commander than a titan killer.
Bone sabres seems nice but I would remove the rerolls 4++/3++ is good on a T6 W6 2+ model. Also make the sabres ap 2, monstrous creatures wont have in the next edition (solid guess).
I see what you're saying, but I'll think on it.Trygon prime
Having both is a nice idea personally I always saw the prime as a leader and therefore a HQ. letting the same model be both a lord of war bad ass and "light" fast attacker confuses the opponent and my "plausibility feel" to much I dont like it. sadly the Gargantuan trygons time has run out. lastly the trygon model is really big I really dont want the models to be unable to move on battlefield. otherwise its playing with action men.
Don't 100% follow you, sorry. It ended up being rather long but theres still lots that could be said about it, mostly good and some bad
