Question on "For every # models in the unit" wording

Hey guys,

I'm looking at my GK book and it says, without directly quoting, you can bring a special weapon for every 5 models in the unit. Pretty straight forward. But it says the Justicar can also bring a special weapon. Does he count towards the 5 models or could you have 2 special weapons doing it that way?

if there is a separate list of weapons for the justicar it means you can have 2 special weapons.

The Justicar can't take Special Weapons. He gets access to the Melee Weapons list, and Special Issue Wargear, which is stuff like Meltabombs or Master-Crafting something, but not the Special Weapons list.

West Rider you are totally right. I didn't read it properly. Kind of silly if you think about it. Was really hoping I could get 2 Psycannons per Termi squad...

It would be sweet if they could get a second Psycannon at 5 strong. Hopefully the Skitarii arrangement (2 Specials at any size, a third at full) will start becoming more common.

The justicar does count towards the 5 model limit. Sadly, the only way to get two special weapons is to run a unit of 10. You could get round it by running a 10 man squad, then combat squadding it, leaving both specials in one squad and leaving the basic squad to objective sit, but that seems wasteful. You could also run purgation squads, but those eat up heavy slots of course.
