New idea for tyranid defence line

Iv been trying for ages to come up with a simple way of making a tyranid defence line and I think I might have it!

Why not use the markers from the geansteeler box and add smoke to them with cotton wool.it fits with are fluff to have poison clouds expelled from morphed terrain. What do u guys think?

True if any one can suggest a better alternative to cotton wool it would be grate maybe wire wool some how?

Might look cartoony buy you could take foam board and cut out a gas cloud to make sure you get the same height as an aegis defense line. Get some texturing on it and paint it up as a gas cloud and pin it into the cysts

I think depicting smoke is a bit difficult. If you do it with cotton wool, it'll be soft and might break easily, modelled smoke is likely to look cartoony, although plenty of gw models have smokey trails modelled on them now.

That is an amazing piece of terrain, I may have to get one. Micro art has some really cool stuff, I really need to avoid that site I am always tempted to buy way to much stuff from there.

Wargamma/ Mr Dandy makes cool aegis d lines for all Xenos and they come with an emplacement which is easily converted to represent a comms relay.

The Mr Dandy ones are nice too. But I think the microart version is just a little better detailed, more crisp, and I personally like the shape better as it fits more with the typical capillary tower nid terrain.

Steel wool. Can pass for smoke but lasts forever. I bet you could make a Tyranid ADL with very little need for conversion out of a Tyrannocyte box. SO MANY FREAKING PIECES

Definitely dig the idea. Gonna steal it if the carnifex plate defense line I'm trying to get working doesn't.... work out.
