hay i have just now found out of the new models and the remodeling of the thropes, and i really like them.

but i wonder, could the Zoanthrope in the middle of the picture be the Doom of Malen'tai, or some different type of Zoanthrope.

if the info i am looking for is out already please tell me. kinda in the dark with these new creatures

Fluff also tags it as the evolution of the Doom of Malan'tai. Just think of it as the "mass produced" version.

Compared to the Doom, it's a massive disappointment. I prefer to not see it as linked to the Doom in any way.

It is the Doom of Malantai. We all knew Spirit Leech was going to be nerfed and just one shooting attack, not 2, one in each players shooting phase. While it's not exactly like the DoM, it's a bit smaller but now we can field more of them, one per brood of 3 or more Zoans.

Not sure of having one unit targeted at a range of 18" is better than a bubble of 6" non shooting attack is better or not, but at least it's back and more Niddy than Doom was before.

I like the new version, it does seem more Niddy than DoM was before at least fluff wise.

It's not even reminding of the Doom of Malantai. It's not worthy of being named in the same sentence. It's a pale shadow of the 6th edition Zoanthrope with Telepathy primaris, only it sets you back way more than twice the points. Basically it's a roundabout way of giving us back a fraction of the options that was taken from us when we lost the BRB psychic powers.

DoM was the epithomy of fluffy Tyranid Zoanthropeness. And he also kicked ass. Some don't like fluffy and kickass in the same unit.

Plenty of folks called for a Nerf back in the days. Naturally geedub obliged. The only time I ever gonna house rule something was to use the neuro as OG doom. It looks so much of a boss zoey to not have OG spirit leech.

I think you are assuming wayyyy to much in GWs favour. Doom is dead because of the whole chapter house thing. Not some empathetic response to a little public whimpering.

May you please explain what OG is? I don't understand so you sentence doesn't make any sense to me.
