Hey guys,
My bro and I will be attending a 1600pt tourney at the end of October and I'm looking for help refining my list. I'll be running nids while my bro will be taking daemons (any advice also welcome). Not too sure what to expect meta-wise but am sure riptides and wraithknights will feature along with plenty of MEQ.
Restrictions on builds are bound lists with no allies other than eachother (IA is allowed) and 800pts a piece. Scenarios are Emperors will, purge the allien and something objective heavy (can't remember the name)
Nid List: (800 pts)
HQ:
2x Egrub Dakka Flyrant
Elites:
Malanthrope
Troops:
2 x 3 ripper bases
Fast Attack:
20x Gargs w/ TS
Daemon List (from memory and for those that are interested)
HQ:
2 x Tzeentch Heralds on discs (both with lvl 3 upgrade) w/ 3+ ward book
Elites:
3 x flamers of tzeentch
Troops:
2 x 3 nurgling bases
Fast Attack:
8 x Screamers
Heavy Support:
Defiler with s8 ap3 large blast
Notes:
- Our general strategy is to get up close with the enemy early with plenty of mobility to grab objectives
- I'm taking advantage of the quality of flyrants while using the gargs to tarpit and deal with high toughness nastiness like the knights and riptides. I'm questioning whether AG might be more useful overall?
- AV14 is addressed via egrubs and the screamer special attack which gives armour bane
- We should have sufficient dice to dominate the psychic phase and will likely try and daemon farm to tarpit; grab objectives etc
- I'm not fully convinced my bros poor man's screamer star will work. For those that aren't familiar you're usually also taking Kairos for a failed book activation and more heralds to ensure you get the +1 to invulnerable saves (which with the book gives you a 2+ rerollable). If necessary he could add Kairos and drop the flamers, defiler and possibly a Herald.
Any suggestions/thoughts/criticisms welcome!
