Help starting my Hivefleet? I'm still shaky.

Hiya! I got pointed here from the DakkaDakka forums, I've gotten bored with playing Space Marines, sure they're fun, but I don't like their play style or fluff. Tyranids on the other hand, those are awesome. Bugs sweeping across the battlefield, devouring everything in their path, it all sounds so much fun. I've started building with what comes in this set, and building off of that. Here is how I've set up the army so far.

I'd love to know how I could improve this current list, if possible, and what models I should add next? I don't really have a points limit, so please all comments are welcome! I'd like to play more of swarm Close Quarters army than a Shooty army.

I'm disavowing expertise here but thought I might reply.

You obviously need a HQ choice as that list lacks one. I have played with a hive tyrant and a tyranid prime and by far the most durable, useful HQ choice in my games has been the Hive Tyrant.

Also, Venomthrope. I bought one recently and you can abuse the heck out of it to protect your little bugs from massed shots (but not blasts).

You should consider what the purpose of your gaunt broods. At toughness 3 you are going to lose a pile of them each game, you need to decide whether basically doubling the cost of a hormagaunt brood is worth it if you expect to do nothing with them except rush downfield and tarpit or use them as a screen for your larger bugs. I've only played a half dozen games but my gaunts die, they die in droves.

You need a pair of flyrants. They'll provide some synapse, skyfire, psychic powers and serve as a strong backbone for any tyranid army.
