1000 point nid list for doubles Tournament.

Hey Hive, I'll be running a 1000pt nid list this saturday as part of a doubles tournament at my LGS. The thing is, I don't know who my partner will be, and I have no idea what they're going to be bringing, so this list needs to be an all comers.

Hive Tyrant w/ wings and 2 twin-linked devs (240pts)

Hive Guard Brood (2x hive guard, Impaler cannons) (110pts)

Just a few things i have noticed and from my limited experience so you may disagree,

First of all i believe you have egrubs on the tyrant, if you dont then you should. You have overcharged yourself by 10 for the model already (thus why i think you have egrubs) so no point change there.

I personally dont really like the Hive crone in 1000 points, but i dont really like it at all unless you come across a lot of air which i currently have not so your opinion might be change by this. However, without the air problem i find it to be rather bad at taking out land tanks, as a single vector strike is often hard to line up, and can often be avoided if necessary by the opposing player. Basically not reliable. Also he has feed, so if you fail the leadership test can only vector strike (admittedly this is unlikely but you know, when it rains it pours).

For 155 points you might want to consider taking 2 Tyrant guard, one with crushing claws and one with lashwhip and bone sword. This will give your Flyrant safety if you do not have first turn, and also you can run them up to hunt tanks, The lashwhip character is also meat shield for the claws but also good deterrent for  other units that wish to assault them as you will likely get 4 attacks first at S5 AP3 with instant death on a 6 so they can chase a character too.

Alternatively you could take a Unit of Hive Guard with Shock Cannons (or more impalers) for the tank busting, or Harpy with HVC, but this would be your choice and if you are facing air combat, enough so that your flyrant can deal with it alone then the Hive Crone is good.

Another option you might want to consider is changing the Carnifex for a Mawlock. The reason for this is that with the twinlinked devs you either are not using them at all if you want to take on a tank so pointless for a turn, or you are and you will not be using the str 9 anyway, unless you are going to finish off some left overs (which can potentially save a carni from fire, but not something you should be relying on). This would be personal preference, but as a plus you get two more wounds, as a minus the mawlock can fail spectacularly on occasion so once again personal preference.
