you have a boatload of little bugs and not as much punch as you'll want at 2400+ points.

also, flyrant with dakka, egrubs, and regen is 270.

What do you mean By not enough punch.

2500ish points of anything is going to have a lot of firepower and armor. 90 devilgaunts is expensive and a whole lot of S4 shots and can't damage anything in a vehicle that isn't a DE skimmer. you've got 90 points in regen alone. 3 zoanthropes, eh, you may or may not want/need but at this points level especially better to double up and use malanthropes if they're an option.

tl;dr: you need more units that actually kill stuff. more dakka fexes, more flyrants. think about the bioblast and/or living artillery nodes to get around FOC limits.

I havent been too impressed w harpys or hive crones since 7th edition. electroshock grubs and charging fexes have done the job for the higher armor stuff. id drop the harpy and a crone in favor a second flyrant. ditch the regen entirely imo. only thing i found worthwhile for it is a tyrannofex if even that. living artillery formation is great. bioblast if your looking for more fexes. instead of blowing all those points on gaunts id maybe do 30 w 15-20 devourers. bring a tervigon and maybe take hive commander to outflank em. w the tervigon u can drop the zoanthropes. if u r looking for more tank killing power maybe drop the second crone for some hive guard ive had plenty more success w them then the crone even with their ballistic skill drop. hope that helps some

I agree with everything he said minus dropping the zoanthropes. 2x1 Zoanthropes help generate 4 warp charges and can sit on far back objectives while you push forward.

rippers can sit on your backfield objectives (or deep strike onto your opponent's after you've killed his troops) and you can use the extra points to add stuff that actually performs work instead of just babysitting.

i should have been a little more clear in my statement w zoans. its really a personal preference with them i should have said. i dont find the need for the extra warp charges and havent really hurt for their synapse but if u r going for a heavier psycher game or feel you need the extra synapse then i absolutely agree with giga

our options have evolved somewhat since the book dropped. with tervs nerfed and now really expensive as troops, this kind of narrowed it down to some combination of warriors, gants, and zoanthropes for scoring and synapse. then skyblight dropped, and there were OS gargs. now with swarms scoring, the advent of OS troops for battle forged CAD/allied detachments, we have better options. malanthrope pretty much negates me ever wanting zoanthropes again, until the next time they redo the codex at least.

unfortunately some areas still dont allow forge world in their tournaments. i know my area doesnt or id be all over malanthropes too
