1850 tournament, trying out LAF!

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you guys! This weekend I'm going to a tournament, 1850 is the point list allowance, formations are Allowed. This is going to be a test for living artillery for me, I have only played it and then Necrons, so I can't wait to test it out on other factions. Here is my list tell me what you guys think, I have times of models and willing to swap out just about anything.

Two flying hive tyrants with twin linked devours and electroshock grubs

30 Gants
Tervigon

2x Harpies with cluster spines and Twin Link heavy venom cannons

Mawlock

Living artillery formation
3x warriors with deathspitter and BS

What are you thoughts?

I would prefer Crones over the Harpies, and I believe those are a 1:1 swap how you have them kitted. Also not a huge fan of Deathspitters or a second Zoan in the brood, but nothing is jumping out at me as a significantly better use of 60 points. Looks good to me overall - really like LAN

I'm not a fan of death spitters either but they come in the formation and you can choose to re roll your scatter dice for them, the zoans I'm not 100% either but they gave me synapse and extra work charges... And I would take the crones but there is lil to no need for them, hardly anyone in my meta runs flyers.

Deathspitters don't re-rolls scatter, they don't scatter at all.

You could probably replace the 2 x Zoans and 2 x Venoms with one Malenthrope (or two). You'd lose some warp charge though.


You may want to consider taking 2x3 rippers with DS over your other troops and see if you prefer that play style.

Oh I see how I wrote it lol, you get to re- roll your scatter dice for the formation. And I don't have a malenthrope or that would be neat to try out, and I think I will try the ds rippers, i've had bad luck with them in the past but I guess everything deserves a second chance...or so they say, would lictors be better for this list than zoans?

In my experience Mawlocs need to be run in pairs to be effective. I'd consider dropping the deathspitters and taking a dakkafex instead. I agree that 2x zoanthropes aren't ideal but with backlash on the tervi now 12" you need to be careful with synapse for the gants. I'd look also consider upping the effectiveness of the tervi with any of egrubs/CCs/hive commander. The rest of your list looks good. Also a big fan of LAN

I'd also consider dropping a venom and the harpies and taking a further 2 dakkafexes. With my other change you'd be swapping two TL HVC/CS shots and a mawloc attack for 36 TL s6 dev shots.

I see what your saying, but 3 dekkafexs will be primary targets, they will be slaughtered much faster that's the others, plus havering 4 FMC's sounds amazing in my current meta , mawlocs are better a pair but I can't find the points, I did however drop the zoans for 2x3 DS rippers,
