Bidding farewell to a dear creation.

So nearly 2 years ago, I took the parts from a Red Terror, a 3rd edition Carnifex and a Warrior to create this beautiful tyranid prime conversion.



It stands as tall as a walking Hive Tyrant and has seen battle as one, as well as a flying hive tyrant, tyranid prime and even the Swarmlord. It was an epic battle against space marines in old 5th edition in which it went toe to toe with none-other than Marneus Calgar. After 2 rounds of fighting (mine and his) the Swarmlord walked away victorious.

It is with a heavy heart that I must put this model down. Permanently. I need the Carnifex legs back as I'm short on monstrous creatures and have obtained one of the old warrior sized tyrants to replace it. On top of that, i'm planning on buying a warrior box in the near future to make a new prime. And so I must say goodbye to one of my greatest creations.

I thought i'd share with you all before It meets it's end. I'll take a few days to think it over more but am likely going to be parting with it.

Just use it as-is for a counts-as fex. No need to rip it up if it's a fav.

I say if you like the mini, keep it and use it as a "counts as" what ever you want. No need for him be consumed for bio mass.

How Ironic eh? I say keep him/her/it.

I agree. If you like the model, and it has sentimental value, I would keep it and call it a "Beta Carnifex" or something. You may later regret destroying an early kitbash as compared to having a "Proper" 'fex

Have you tried asking people for spare MC legs? Just about everyone who's built a flyrant has a spare set of MC legs and the tail that goes with it.

I've got two sets of walking tyrant legs after buying and assembling 2 flyrants. And in a fit of boredom, I super glued them together. I'm worried about damaging them. not as worried about the old fex legs, as they are metal.

*EDIT* Went digging through my bits and I apparently didn't glue together the second set. Yay!

*EDIT EDIT* WOW..... In an amazing twist of fate, i've managed to knock over the old edition tyrant and break it back down into small metal pieces, losing the bonesword in the process. *Searching!*

Pretty sure I have a spare pair of metal 3rd ed fex legs you can have
In the UK though but postage shouldn't be a lot!
