Need serious help on 1500 tournament list.

I am planning on entering a local tournament I found out about short notice but can't settle on a list as I keep changing my mind so suggestions please and also would you use formations from rising leviathan ?

so far i have

Loose the HVC's, they'really kind of hellaciously bad on everything except a harpy. X2 TL BL devourers on the flyrants and fexes and you have the start of a good list.

I'd also not use 10 strong units of hormies; I prefer gargoyles myself but if I were going to use the horms, you need a larger unit of them to sling forward. 10 is just going to get bolted to death.

Agree with gigasnail - TL Devourers are definitely the strongest shooting option for Flyrants and Fexes. I like hormagaunts, but I would drop the toxin and lump them together and possibly still up their numbers. Barbed Strangler is generally more effective on the Warriors than the Venom Cannon.

If you have the mini, I would consider dropping a Carnifex and either warriors or hormagaunts (lean more to hormagaunts) and take another flyrant with 2 TL devourers and electroshock - best 240 points you can spend in the codex.

Idea I'm thinking is the tyrants come in turn 2 swooping (dice rolls permitting) and get stuck into the front lines.
The termegants advance to objectives with the warriors with devourers and barbed strangler behind to provide synapse.
The Carnifex will be charging up the board with the other squad of warriors with Bonesword providing synapse and also ready to engage in combat with the fex's and venomthrope providing cover save while they advance.
Crone will be my anti air support and troop killer.

Am I somewhere on the money with this.
Tyrants will be squad killers/ anti armor
Gaunts objective takers
The fexare my anti tank
Crone anti air /tank
Venom for cover
Warriors for synapse.

Looking much better, I really wish HVC were better but sadly that high str does nothing without a reasonable AP and is even worse with the low ROF.

Not sure what role those Bonesword warriors are filling, that's a really expensive upgrade for ID which won't work on most ICs in the game anyway. If you're looking at sending them after other multi-wound nominal toughness models make sure you avoid the S8 weapons in return. OTOH they could absolutely wreck other MCs and orks heh; just saying you might wind up increasing the cost of your warriors by 50% and losing them faster.

Bones words mainly due because that's how I modelled them and have to play with the units as modelledin the tourney

That makes them a slow moving and very tempting target, as expensive as they are. If you're going the BS assassin route, use them as shrikes.

final list looking good!! similiar to what i usually take, except for hormagants. I usually take gargolyes they are mint!
