Is the Dimachaeron going to be an Apocalypse only model?

I'd be interested to see a Malanthrope made from a HT box Me too. While I am going to skip Dima for now, the Malanthrope is another story. I hate running Zoans as they never do anything for me, so the Malanthrope actually helps quite a bit as he is sort of a Zoan/Venomthrope combo. Will be keeping an eye on ebay for now, as the price to buy direct from FW (after dollar to pound conversion and shipping to the U.S.) runs about $100.
I feel like the Dimachaeron needs a better nickname. With those long legs, maybe Princess Di (or Die)?

Yeah, naming a MC after our dear departed Princess is a bit of a no-no. lol The lack of flesh hooks or large equivalent is rather jarring; it should at least have the option for spine banks...after all it does have a BS value. Looking at ways around the problem I think it gives other units *with* hooks/spines a chance to get picked up and complement the units without. One Lictor; what's the priority, the 50pt gribbly with 3W, 5A on the charge + assault grenades which may thin out your guys before they hit anything, or the 200pt A8-10 S8 Bringer Of Severing Death bearing down behind the first one? Lictor in first, kills 1.3 Marines, 4 Marines hit back with 2 hits...0.7 wounds on the Lictor or 0.33 on the Dima, Dima piles in at I1 step ~7 attacks, 4.67 hits, 3.89 wounds, dead Marines. A Fist may put a wound out if the Lictor didn't kill the Sarge first, 0.41 wounds. With as many attacks (and wounds) as the Dima has I think it's not too bad that it doesn't get flesh hooks, especially if you use it to pile into a unit which is already in combat. Put the Dima into base contact with the friendly units between it and the target and it can still get stuck in but can't take any hits back unless Precisioned. The lack of Fearless is in-character with the beast given that it's basically a giant, vastly more capable Lictor designed to be indepenent and reason for itself. Most other non-Synapse MCs are specifically designed to be dominated by the Hive Mind or let off the leash at key points where Synapse isn't required. The Dimacharon is pretty similar to our FMCs in that it's not nothing to babysit and is trusted to operate away from higher control and still be effective. Ld10 4TW.

See The issue I have with this is I feel it opens a can of worms regarding unit type. I can see it now..some nameless faceless little (please do not swear) player in the future telling me Dima cant nom his chaplin or whatever because he is equipped with a jump pack and now counts as "jump infantry" which is different from infantry.. People can argue anything... I could argue that my flyrant should move 36" because he looks so cool... But aside from that, the rules are really clear. Jump units are still the same unit type they were before, with additional rules. Its basically the same as taking a piece of wargear with a lot of extra rules. In previous editions, there were a separate unit type... but no longer.

That is an amazing conversion, but I think I'll go with yoymart for a $30 malanthrope instead. Might get the stone crusher there too but it only comes with the flail so idk.
I like that forge world basically said "shut up and take it as it is." I still think it shouldn't be fast attack, but I'm glad it is so it's not competing with heavy, elite, or hq

Jump Monstrous Creature. What is wrong with that unit type? Would have been perfect for the Dime. Why do FW always have to make up all new (please do not swear)...

And it wouldn't have taken much. Maybe once per game it can Run and Assault. Or it starts the game with 1 FnP plasm token thingy, or something...anything to get passed the first couple of turns.
