We had a big 4 way battle with Khorne/Nids vs. Tau/AM. Now typically I would have been leery about this matchup but the two more experienced players (so I thought,) would just have to be tactially sound to win. Maelstrom is still amazing.
So for starters my ally decides to seize initiative, which threw me from first to last place. Then he decides to feed the AM army unit by unit. (I've never seen such rush efforts.) So by turn 2 half of his heavy hitters are already smoldering. And there was a Huge Shavah squad still to come in.
So in order to capture a point he glides Be'lakor beside the objective I'm on to get a point. He then casts invisibility on himself with -3 LD. He then perils and rolls a 1. 7LD goes bye bye to the warp, to leave the Tyranids with but 1 Skull Cannon. (He had to leave so I finished up.) I inflicted 4 Hullpoints in damage through the Warp Storm and then proceeded to kill 6 of 8 Suits with the Cannons last shot.
So to recap, my ally perilled himself into warp being to close to me, giving the enemy a VP. Then I killed more with 1 of his units than he did the entire game.
I got thrown under the bus by a teammate. But it was a hilarious outcome.. I still lost 14-7 but fighting essentially two of the best shooters on a huge table I figure that's not that bad.

I played against a Chaos army last week. He had to roll on this table every turn and was about to win when two of his units holding objectives suddenly were destroyed by one of the results and I end up winning without holding objectives because of first blood. His face was hilarious. He still played the better game though but a win's a win. ^^

I was playing the worst cheeze list out there in my last 6th edition tourney. Flying Circus, and I had in one turn one of my Carnifex's get enfeebled, lose 2 T, Hive Tyrant next to him shot down, revert to IB, Punch himself in the face, Instant Death. Good times.... If you're referring to a single carnifex and IB feed that isn't correct. Single model units treat the cannibalistic hunger result as devour. I did play a game against an ork player kind of like that before their codex dropped. I had my flyrant harassing a particular unit of nobs and eventually brought them to one model. He went to take a moral check and failed but realized the one nob left had the boss pole. Were not really sure if its supposed to work that way but we both knew what had to happen. The nob struck himself with the boss pole and rallied Oh no!!! I wish i knew that back then. Oh well. I had no heart to prolong the game against such a cheeze list so I don't mind that much.

Playing 6th edition vs dark angels. Genestealers actually foot slogged through cover to far side and were near unstoppable as they munched unit by unit. So as last ditch effort, his 5 TH/SH terminatorterminator he DS'd made a beeline for HQ tervigon (had another as a troop). I tarpitted with gargoyles but couldn't kill any and was losing gargs fast. So Terv went to him (I know, not the brightest idea most of the time). Over 2 assault turns, she smashed all the terminators and survived the game. He decided to call it when at bottom of turn 4 he just had a unit of sniper scouts left.

So my brother and I had a game the other night. I decided to bring a different Tyranid list to combat his Iyandan Eldar list. I took Swarmlord with a single Tyrant guard. Game was scouring and most decent objectives were in the middle of the table.
So the game starts and by the end of his turn 2 my army is cut in half, and it is looking grim, but I continue as we are having a good time still. Swarmy is in the middle of the table holding a objective that gave +1 to cover save, and my Venomthrope is dead and he is sitting in the dead open.
So Eldar turn 3 starts and we both agree that Swarmy is done for and laugh that it would be crazy if he lived. Well after two Warwalkers /w x2 Scatter lasers each, two dakka Serpents, two Wraithlords (x2 Bright lances and x2 Scatter laser), and 12 Dire Avengers only a single wound was done to the Tyrant Guard.
It was pretty epic, and I actually ended up coming back and winning the match 12-9. It was an absolute blast and hilarious at how well Swarmy did, as he usually flops for me aha.

Fought and lost to a Chaos Marine force in the tournament tonight, due to statistically obscene dice rolls from my opponent. It was so bad that at the end of turn 4, when I decided to concede, my opponent sheepishly apologised for his insane dice rolls. I threw absolutely everything at his terminator squad. Dozens of Devourer shots, Carnifex HoW and CC hits, Mawloc TFTDx2), Crone's VS, multiple Spore Mines and he never once rolled a 1 against dozens of wounds and rolled +5 whenever I hit him with AP2. Every. Single. Time. I gave that squad everything I had, nothing came of it and so I was slaughtered. Neither of us could believe his luck. You know it's a mess when your opponent feels sorry for you As we finished earlier than the rest, we sat down and went through the game and roughly worked out that with the number of armour saves his terminator squad made, they could have died twice over without too much complaint on his part. At least 1.5 times was our conservative agreement. What a let down!

I had a game the other day where I was trying out Electroshock guard.
I threw 3 haywire blasts at a Landraider, scattered onto a nearby combat with a terminator hq squad and my Flyrant who was down to 1 wound.
Surprise surprise I failed to hurt the termies and managed to kill my own warlord despite FnP. At least it stopped him getting his tactical objective for killing a flyer, but it was a cruel twist of fate.

In my last game of 6th with three mates I was fielding Eldar alongside Suffering Tim's Marines against Trolly Al's Marines & Dave The Worserer's Nurgle Daemons. They'd made up some backstory where Al's Marines were ensorcelled into believing that Dave's daemons were astoundingly hot but really unhygenic Sisters Of Battle...which was so funny that we didn't even question it. It was probably one of the best games of 40k we've ever played. Highlights: Trolly & Worserer go first, before Tim and I even move Nurgle's Rot thins out my Rangers and one of his Tact squads. This was to pretty much set the tone for the next few hours... In the second turn my only Wave Serpent hit Dave's Soulgrinder at extreme range with a starshot missile, immobilising it on the far table edge and rendering it it mostly useless for the whole game. As a complete opposite, Dave's GUO appeared in the 2nd turn and spent the whole game rolling up our long flank chasing my Scorpions. It never caught them but thanks to a brutal combo of Iron Arm & Soul Eater it was nigh-on unkillable; it rolled over our only Terminator squad & two Tact squads ending the game on 10 wounds, more than it started with. Made worse by the Worserer. Al's only Storm Talon entered play, failed to scratch my Serpent and was then destroyed immediately by the only two flakk Marines on our side. Towards the end of the game Al's mostly ineffective Whirlwind scattered it's final shot from my Wraithblades onto Dave's only remaining Herald, killing it outright. Trolly Al, nice trolling. Al's Terminators + Term Chaplain struck in and made for my Wraithlord which killed one with an overwatching starcannon. I saw the assault coming and moved my Serpent to support, dropping my 5 Wraithblades out the back with my HQ Spiritseer attached. The Emperor's Finest charge my 'Lord and luckily only cause a single wound, losing a Terminator in return. My 'Blades counter charge and their axes kill all 4 Terminators in a single round! SAFE... ...but in the next turn the Warp Storm table kills my Spiritseer, replacing him with a Herald which promptly kills a Wraithblade...before being sucked back into the warp a turn later! The game was capped off by Tim's only remaining Marine not only being the sole survivor of a mass combat of my Scorpions & two Tact squads against two blobs of Plaguebearers & the GUO but falling back from the combat to within 2 inches of the table edge. SAFE...not. The Warp Storm table strikes back with that Marine being the only model on the board picked up and eaten by Slaanesh. Beh! Great game, loads of funny "This will be immense...oh." and "LOL, let's try this...OMG it worked" moments

Had a really fun 2k battle today between 4 players with 1k each. My GW's store manager is just starting Nids so we allied up against Blood Angels and GK. Quality banter was had Two GK squads and a BA dreadnought moved towards the large ruins in the center of the table, in which had my Lictor hiding away on the second floor. BA player reminds GK chap there's a Lictor there, who replies he's not worried at all and opens up on other targets. On our following turn, upon passing our reserve rolls, we gleefully point out that the Lictor that he wasn't concerned about has phoned his old buddy, Mr Mawloc, who bursts out in perfect accuracy onto the closest squad, slaughtering all but two! In the assault phase, said Lictor assaults the remaining duo, manages two hits and rolls boxcars to wound! Unit wiped out! Lictor consolidates back into the ruins like a good troll lol BA player to his GK ally "What the hell man? Don't ignore those damn things next time!" Giggling away I asked the GK player how many points that squad was. "I don't want to think about it" was all I got out of him

Played a game back in 6th when grounding tests were still taken on hits instead of wounds. Had my flyrant wipe out a unit of my brother's chaos marines with it's shooting (can't remember exact load out, but I think I had 2x devourers and ESG). He had a nearby unit of noise marines but I had another unit bearing down on them so I was confident he wouldn't waste their shooting on my flyrant who was in cover. My brother decided to shoot with the rhino the chaos marines had been in with the pintle mounted bolter. A single shot - he hit. Failed my grounding. He opened up with anything in range, and then charged with Abbadon. Needless to say, my flyrant did not survive that battle

Played a game agains my buddy who plays ig back in fifth with my tyranids. He has a heavily mechanized list so i would bring a drop pod full of zoeys every game, but there is one who is special. I drop them hm and they dont scatter very far, te hop out and obliterate a unit of lemon wrappers( leman russ', because the tastyness is on the inside) before settling in to die to the other squads of tanks, basilisks, chimeras and vets inside. The next turn my budy lights them up with some punisher cannons and two go down. Then he fires some las guns, and misses. Then then he fires his other squad of tanks(saved),the chimeras(saved), the vets(saved), basilisk(saved), every gun in in his army(saved). My zoey just sat there with the:smugest look on its face. And then repeated this heroic deed the next turn, sealing its place as:mvp. Additionally my buddy refuses to shoot at zoeys any more.
It wasn't an isolated incident either. Another. Time i was playing against a doggies of khorne list and had the unfortunate luck of having my tervigon sucked into the warp by an angry god and replaced with a herald. Nw though, must be like a squig i think to myself. Thats just another kp for me, gogo zoey ranger and i assault with a zoey. I realize the herald has a plasma sword of badassery and proceed to panic as the herald attacks (saved). The game around them continues(saved), (saved), (saved), there are so few models left we go over turns, and for 9 rounds demon and zoey struggle for supremacy, eventually we just called t a draw and walked away to let them sort it out...

So tonight, against a chap that plays Tau, I was telling him that without fail, every single time I have faced that faction, my Tervigon has hit menopause on turn 1. Every damn time. At the end of my turn 1 movement phase, he reminds me of the Tau curse as I roll. Triple 6! FS! So the curse continues however mummy certainly did it in style tonight My opponent couldn't believe that he suddenly had a brood of 18 in front of him to compliment the 30 already on the table

I never noticed that obliterators had powerfists until that anti-psyker assassin charged them thinking he would keep them from shooting for a couple of turns.

In a recent event I faced a Eldar wraith list. The scenario special rule, was that you got to infiltrate 1 unit of your choice. So my opponent put his wraithknight 18 inches from me. This should have spelled disaster for me, as I had nothing that could take it in CC and he was going to charge me since he was going second. 2 Flyrants and 2 devilfexs unloaded into him. 5 wounds.... unheard of! Then my Exocrine took its 6 shots and killed it off.
