So I wanted to test an 1850 list that ran Skyblight, a guy at my LGS was trying to convince me Nids are still not good.
--------------------------------------------------
My list:
Dakka Flyrant
Choppy Flyrant-Reaper, E-Grubs
3 Warriors-BS
3 Warriors-BS
Crone
SkyBlight
Dakka Flyrant
Harpy-HVC
Harpy-HVC
Crone
15 Gargoyles
15 Gargoyles
15 Gargoyles
Skyshield
His List (From memory):
HQ guy with a Dark lance, he had 2 other guys with Dark lances as well in a Venom
3 guys with dark lances in a Venom
Both Venoms had Dark lances
3 Ravagers with 3 Dark lances each
10 Warriors in a Raider with a Dark lance
10 Warriors in a Raider with a Dark lance
10 Warriors in a Raider with a Dark lance
All of his vehicles had a shield that reduces the range of my guns by 6in
--------------------------------------------------
Mission: Emperor's Will
Deployment: Vanguard Strike
--------------------------------------------------
Nids Turn 1:
My FMC's crowd on the Skyshield, Gargoyles advance, and Warriors stay in the ruins with the objective. Harpies fire and manage to glance the HQ Venom to death netting me first blood.
DE Turn 1:
All his vehicles advance and open fire, poor dice net 1 wound on a Dakka Flyrant and killed 6 Gargoyles.
VP's: Nids:4, DE:0
Nids Turn 2:
My Flyer's Pounce from the Skyshield unleashing a torrent of worms and drool destroying 2 Raiders, and a Ravager. My Reaper Flyrant grinds his General into a squishy paste. My Gargoyles advance to grab his objective.
DE Turn 2:
His vehicles don't move or pivot, volleys of Dark lance fire from the remaining Ravagers ground and kill a Harpy. His warriors focus fire and manage to ground my Warlord Dakka Flyrant and bring him down to one wound. The rest of my army is unscathed.
VP's Nids:8, DE:0
Nids Turn 3:
I vector strike over his lines with my Crones destroying his last Raider and a Ravager. More worm fire destroys the rest of his vehicles with the exception of one Ravager, which is promptly destroyed by my Reaper Flyrant.
DE Turn 3: With only a few warriors on foot left and smoking craters where most of his vehicles used to be, he decides to concede.
VP's Nids: 9 DE: 0
With nearly an undamaged army and a tabling in my favor, my opponent realized that Nids were actually a lot better than he realized. Thanks for reading^_^
