Personally I used to photocopy/reduce my Codecii to A5, add some homemade pages with unit summaries and USR reminders, add a personal coverpage, then get the lot spiral bound. A5 Codex that stays open on the page you left it. Win.

Really sorry that your book got damaged, hope it settles out with time. Stick it under your mattress whilst you're in bed for a few nights

Same thing happened to my Dark Angels codex. If you're not careful with it next the binding will come out. As much as these books cost they're not very well made.

My codex has been in a moderately temperatured apartment and / or house since Saturday. No extreme temperatures. Even when driving in freezing weather, the book was inside the climate controlled interior of the car.

It's starting to look like that, too.

It's most likely the materials used on the hardcover. Different materials stacked like that expand / shrink at different rates, causing warpage.

It's not that I don't take care of them, they just go with me everywhere. They stay in my car though... /shrug I've never had any similar trouble with softcovers...

All 4 of the 6th edition codex my roomie and I have are doing that. Brb on top for a few hours fixes it until you open it again.

If you had done that with a softcover the glue would have melted and the cover would have detached from the contents.

Same with my codex .

The biggest problem is my 6th rulebook though, it's barely together anymore. Yet my 4th and 5th are in a very good shape despite receiving even more abuse.

i've carried mine all over the place and used it for a coaster a couple of times out of sheer disgust.

still in better shape than yours!
