What are you doing in anticipation of the new codex?

What are you doing or going to do with the anticipation of the new codex, or will do when you do get the new Tyranid codex?

I am all excited now. I am cleaning my basement now. I am finally turning it into my son and me gaming room. Even if the rules suck, I will be modelling at least and finally starting my Tyranid army. Yes I started it before, but quitting on and off because of life, I am calling this a rebirth for me.

So how about my fellow Hive minders. What are you guys and galls doing?

I've had several kits sitting on the shelf since the rumors started flying about months back. For example I picked up three old metal OOEs with the idea of converting them into Tyrant Guard. They've sat in the project drawer because there was no sense making them if the new 'dex was going to nerf or eliminate them. Same thing with the two Pyrovore kits I got dirt cheap. And the eBay Carnifex that is stripped and ready to be painted anew.

Now with rumors become much more substantial and in many cases being validated I've pulled the projects out and begun prioritizing. Already green-stuffed the OOE bodies to have the familiar Guard carapace in anticipation of running them either with Swarmy or as a stand-alone assault spearhead. I've got the bits to make the Carnifex an Exocrine if that makes sense, or add it to my other 'fexen if the point drop and build-out variety becomes reality.

So yeah, I'm getting ready.

Bits box check and unpainted model inventory. I have a half a box of gargoyles laying around and 8 unpainte Raveners of eBay. 12 Genestealers in dire need of paint and all the parts on the tyrant and tervigon kit to magnitize and paint (build SL so I want to have a flyrant option).
2 Old screamer killers I want to rebase and repaint to make a coherent brood.

I am excitedly re-reading my Skaven codex! My Skavenids have spent the past six months in their box, partly because I have been concentrating on my Dark Eldar pirate girls, and partly because I only have one Tervigon/Screaming Bell, and didn't want to build more.

I have started going through my Skaven bitz box, and am looking forward to deciding which new models I want to build proxies for.

I have avoided rumour threads, and probably won't follow any until I get my codex next week, but then will be looking earnestly at Hive Pit Abominations, more Dragons with ratty riders.

I have also started visiting the forum "TheUnderEmpire" again, for modelling and painting inspiration.

Just starting out with Tyranids, so I've been throwing together some test models and magnetizing a Hive tyrant (I considered that pretty much a safe bet). Currently wondering why I didn't collect nids before now...

Re-reading the fluff of the 5th ed codex. Been building a gaming room for a month or so now davor but it's quick to build something playable(terrain needs a ton of painting but I can barely be moved to paint my minis so terrain might stay looking like green foam insulation board for a bit).

I've got a 3k 5th ed Finale match tomorrow, nid vs nid.

Will prolly study the new codex for a week then get in a similar match and see how the changes turn out.
