Will you buy the January's White Dwarf? Assuming it announces the Nid Codex.

nope. I don't pay White dwarf any mind unless new rules are getting published in it. I have bought exactly one white dwarf issue ever and that was the one with the flyer rules in it. That issue is now obsolete thanks to death from the skies and the space marine codex.

They're going to need to add some real content to get me to buy it. I can get the same pretty pictures off the website a week later.

will buy, not really for any substantial reading, nice to have for toilet reading though =p. Since it will be focused on tyranids its really a no brainer for me, i'll usually end up buying wd only if it pertains directly to something i'm interested in. for instance i have the tau release wed(due to the tau vs tyranid batrep), Sm release, and lizardmen release. Skipped the others tho

With the price increase and no content increase, I will not be getting the WD. It should be free, since all it is, is advertising. We shouldn't have to pay for advertising. Also why would I waste $13 for a WD when that can be going to the new Tyranids?

Sadly, my head is going to explode soon enough if I can't get to know more about the new Tyranid Release... and I might even get that Whit Dwarf the 30th.

Apropos explosion... came to think of it? Anyone remember why Tomato had to grow back his head? It's a long time ago but it is still puzzling me.

Nope. No interest until White Dwarf becomes a useful publication for players.

I enjoy reading their ridiculously inaccurate and misleading battle reports (Raveners with Synapse, anyone?), but I'm not going to pay money for it. Especially at a significant price tag of 13 bucks. I sometimes pick them up from the local library, but it's a rare occasion indeed.

I buy it every once in a while because I enjoy thumbing through it. Fluff pieces, hobby/painting articles, and even the blundering battle reports are fun. I've had some of my stuff featured in there, and I usually buy the anniversary ones too. I'll get this one because I've gotten every one that featured Tyranids.

My FLGS guy sells them for $6, so it's always a good buy.

What I get a kick out of are the whiners. People who don't buy the magazine but complain about it's existence anyway. They'll say it's a "money grab" because it advertises their new releases (which 100% of magazines do); or that they will only buy it if it basically has all the rules for all the models printed in it for free. Those same people will complain about all the new content GW has pumped out because it "bloats the game" and makes it tough to keep track of, yet they want to carry around 4 different copies of a magazine with rules on select pages between product advertisements.

One guy went so far as to say:

"I'm not going to spend money on a Be'Lakor dataslate!!! His rules should have just been printed in a White Dwarf!"

So you won't spend $4 to get his rules, but you'll spend $10 on a magazine you have to carry around and flip through to find the page with his rules on it?

Most people who complain about White Dwarf haven't really looked at one in the last 12 months or so. They've gotten a lot better. Those same people usually could care less about the fluff and hobby aspect and would play the whole game with pennies and index cards if they could.

I never pick up magazines these days, it's 2013. Most stuff in magazines can be find on the internet long before I can get I my behind to the store.

I'll skip it this release although I usually get the ones that belong to my armies releases. I like the feel of their battlereports since they never seem to feature WAAC lists. However, I'm really low on funds since I've been away from work since midsummer to take care of my newborn so nothing to read in the few seconds I get in the bathroom.
