Kitbashed Biovore, a.k.a. the "Super Termagant" (WIP)

I know there are a few Tyranid players that like the look of the Biovore, but I don't count myself as one of them. In fact, while I prefer the Pyrovore's model over the Biovore's, I'm still not happy with the "gunbeast" look of either of them. I think it's the "sloppy" appearance of the organic sacks and tubing that turns me off. 

So I decided to make myself a brood of 3 Biovores using more readily available parts (ones I don't have to special order). I used some extra warrior legs, tails, arms, and guns, ravener torsos (for the extra bulk), and termagant heads. What came out of that is what I think is a rather understated Biovore that brings the design back around to something that's more familiar. It kinda looks like a "super termagant" to me, and I actually like it.

Below is the "I think I'm done gluing" stage of the project. Meaning, I think I'm done gluing, so now I can move on to paint (or greenstuff, but I don't think any greenstuff work is necessary).

very nice, I like it. I kind of like the gun coming out of their back thing though, so perhaps I'd do a modified version of these...

I already have a brood of Hive Guard painted up and ready to go. They're easy to get, as they're still on the shelves.

These were created to evoke the idea of a "heavy weapons" Tyranid. I liked the concept behind the BoLS article "Building a Better Biovore", but I didn't like the end result. This is my own attempt at a bulkier creature.

In truth, it can be used for any Tyranid of that basic form. If you drop the guns, it could even make a Tyrant guard.

Been raining here, so no place to prime. I may be able to do so tonight, after work, though.

They should be painted sometime this weekend.

Looks great!! Very clean, and the hunched look makes it look like its lumbering up the field in a slow, heavy support fashion. Little too heavy looking to be a hive guard IMO, i think it makes an awesome Biovore. Always rewarding when you can make a brood of 45$ models for free! And have a unique brood in your army to boot.
