So i've got another tournament on the 31st. I've been to plenty at this store so far and have had lots of fun in almost all my matches. But, despite my levels of fun being huge, i've never actually won a game of 6th edition WH40K.
I'm hoping to change that up this time around and am trying a list that contains a few models i've never actually run in a list since 5th edition.
== HQ ==
Hive Tyrant (1) - Twin-Linked Devourer - Brainleech Worms, Twin-Linked Devourer - Brainleech Worms, Wings, The Horror, Leech Essence
Tyranid Prime (1) - Deathspitter, Lash Whip And Bonesword
== Elites ==
Hive Guard Brood (2).
Venomthrope (1)
Zoanthrope Brood
--> Zoanthrope (3)
--> Mycetic Spore (1) - Twin-Linked Deathspitter
== Troops ==
Tyranid Warrior Brood (5) - Deathspitter, Scything Talons
Termagant Brood (20) - Devourer
Tervigon (1) - Stinger Salvo, Cat, Onslaught, Taken As Troops
== Heavy Support ==
Trygon (1) - Instinctive Behaviour - Feed
Carnifex Brood
--> Carnifex (1) - Twin-Linked Devourer - Brainleech Worms, Twin-Linked Devourer - Brainleech Worms
--> Mycetic Spore (1) - Twin-Linked Deathspitter
== Total ==
1750 pts.
I'm trying to go for a hybrid elite/swarm list. The amount of models and variety of said models doesn't allow me to run an effective swarm list (as all my hormagaunts and genestealers have been nerfed in 6th. And I don't have all the specialty models to run a pure elite or heavy list.
The whole idea with this list is to push the center of the map, using the termagants as screen and the venomthrope to give them some hope of not being entirely obliterated. The warrior/prime squad will be right on their heels with the tervigon being escorted forward with the hive guard behind them, keeping within range to cast catalyst on the termagants to get those bullets out asap.
The carnifex and trygon run back field interruption, striking in where they can cause the most damage.
The Zoanthropes are going to be wild cards units. If i'm facing a vehicle heavy list they will stay with their codex powers. If I see a severe lack of vehicles, I intend to swap their powers for psychic shriek and rolling the other one on biomancy, taking assail if I don't like what I get.
And the hive tyrant... well, he's there to do what he does best.
Thoughts, suggestions, critiques. Any and all of those 3 are most welcome.
Also, this is my first time using the tyranid army creator. If anyone could tel me how to remove the point costs from my list without having to delete every single one manually, i'd be most appreciative.
