500 point Catachan fluff List for school

So me and a few friends are building 500 point lists of armies we have always wanted to play but don't have the money to build a full army and we will be taking them to school in a little over 2 weeks.

Lists I will be going up against are Tau, Tyranids, Eldar, and Dark Angels.

I want this list to be fun and fluffy (all our lists will be like this, we are just having fun not competing or anything) but I also want it to be good. For my army I wanted to go as cheap as possible so I basically bought the Catachan battle force and made it into a 500 point list.



Company command squad- Straken, regimental standard, medic, autocannon, camo-cloaks

Sly Marbo

Veteran squad- Sgt Harker, flamer, autocannon, forward sentries

veteran Squad- Flamer, autocannon, forward sentries

Scout Sentinel- Heavy Flamer, camo-netting



Mainly I plan to keep the Company Command Squad and veterans in cover with their fairly good cover saves. then I will outflank the sentinel and burn their units which will for the most part have saves that are 4+ or higher.

seeing your opponents, the nyds are destroyed by this list. The Tau might give you a problem. Eldar should have trouble with the 25 guys but not so much with the sentinel. Dark angels.... try to shoot them before they shoot you. All in all here is what I think the list would do best against.
1.) Tyranids
2.) Eldar
3.) Dark Angels
4.) Tau

Yes... be scared of the tau if he knows how to use them!
and I suppose I will post a 500 pt list for each army (besides the dark angels and elder) that you could be up against if they use the battle boxes

YOU - Imperial Guard list I would do would probably be the same. Because that's a pretty solid list if you have cover

THE TYRANIDS

Tyranid Prime - 2X Sets of Scything Talons - Regeneration
16X Hormagaunts - Toxin Sacs
Pt: 218

Tyranid Prime - Death Spitter - Regeneration
16X Termagaunts
Pt: 175

7X Genestealers - Toxin Sacks
Pt: 99

Exactly 500 pts of tyranids from the starter set (I would be scared of this list at 500 pts if I didn't have flamers or blast templates)

Tau - alright, lets face it, the battle box, your going up against two squads of 6 warriors, 1 Crisis suit, 2 Lead suit guys, and maybe 3 Stealth units if he has the points, (trust me, your dead. That's what this says)

Eldar - have you seen their battleforce? Not the greatest. Picture him purchasing an eldar farseer because he needs an hq, some Dire avengers in there, probably in the transport. The guardians will be there walking around, that makes them an easy target considering the farseer will probably hide behind them. The Vyper could be an issue for your walker. Take out his vehicles with the auto cannons first. IT WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE MUCH EASIER. The guardians with the farseer will be your next threat unless the avengers are closer, wipe them out with your 1000 las pistol shots and then dance on their corpses like real men.

Dark Angels - Now if this guy has the slightest clue on how to play them, then I wish your men an honourable death. You will see probably 1 squad of bikers with an attack bike, 3 Bikers 1 Attack Bike. 3 regular Bikers. a land speeder just to troll you. and one hq of I don't even know. So.. good luck against death.

here are their lists,

Tau:
Commander farsight
1 squad of 12 firewarriors
1 squad of 6 fire warriors
1 squad of 10 pathfinders

Eldar:
Farseer
2 squads of 6 dire avengers
1 squad of 6 striking scorpions

Tyranids:
3000 point available to choose from so not just the battle box.

Dark Angels: Not appearing since they forgot their models.

so your biggest threat won't be there, your easiest beatable became your hardest (Tervigons? Tervigons.) I can picture his list 2X Tervigons, 10X Termagaunts with Devourers.

as for those eldar, not as big a threat as they could be, but those scorpions will definetly be your first priority. that farseer could cause issues to. Worry about the avengers when they get near you, until then stay in cover, shoot the scorpions with auto cannons because why not. After the scorpions are gone, go for the farseer unless the dire avengers have gotten close, then spam your las pistols, auto cannons, and flamers on them and laugh as they fall over.

the tau... I will just say good luck, luckily your auto cannons out range them so... DAKKA... shouldn't be to hard to take out the fire warriors and pathfinders if you stay back and auto cannon them. Farsight.... wait for him to come to you, and then shoot the heck out of him, he is bound to fail some saves with that many guys shooting at him.

and one thing, after you get some money, focus on some more regular catachan squads.

Well lucklily both the eldar and tyranids are also my lists. I didn't bring any monsterous creatures for the sake of storage in my room, so no tervigons. The tyranid list will probably look something like Genestealers and a prime.

as for the rest the only army I am really worried about are the Tau since they can take away my cover saves (most of my units get a 4+ in cover and harker's squad gets a 3+). when Im being shot at I will usually go to ground and on my turn do the get back in the fight order. Tau are the only army that can ignore this so I plan to send marbo and the sentinel after the pathfinders to cripple his markerlight capability.
