Who will buy the Limited edition Tyranid codex?

Codex is not out yet. This is when it does come out in a year or two.

Will you pay basically double for the Tyranid codex? I am a Dark Angel player (well collector since I don't play no more) and didn't bother getting the collectors edition.

Maybe because I love Tyranids so much, I couldn't bother. I was wondering if and when Tyranids get their new codex, if I will bother getting the limited edition. Unless, it's an OMG cover, I don't think I will be.

So I am curious as to weather the other hive minds here will get it or not. So far I don't see why I would pay twice as much just for a different cover when I could be getting minis instead.

So how about you boys and girls. Will you be getting it or not, and why or why not?

will i reward GW for its silly business and distribution practices? not beyond paying the already ridiculous prices for its plastic crack and books. the collector's edition is wayyyyy silly. i'm sure someone somewhere wants them (because the evidence suggests they are selling out) but it's not me.

Well if I have the cash I might by a limited one or two and sell it down the line but that is just to make a profit.

But to use myself no absolutely no. The new codex cost twice as much as the old ones anyway so why would I pay so much more for a little cooler front cover. I can see why so many torrent codexes theese days. The models are expensive enough so don't get why you would spend so much extra cash on something just because it's "limited"

Nope. I can see the appeal, but I ain't got that kind of disposable income lying around.

If they had actual extra content, I might, but as far as I can tell, they've just got higher production values and maybe some alternate art.

Given that they are selling, I'd say they were a pretty good idea for GW. They're not the kind of limited edition offering that screws over those who don't get it, it's literally just an option for people who have more money than they know what to do with to give you more of it. GW gets a bit of extra income, and no one actually gets hurt by it.

Codices are expensive enough here in Australia, the limited edition would have to look heaps better than the normal one for me to even consider buying it.

I'll probably buy it. I used to buy them all but after the recent price hike I decided to only buy the Tyranids (my only Army).

I know I'm getting ripped off but meh - it looks cool, what can I say?

The 'codex budget' is still a win for that year, and every year inbetween.

The store owner usually has a limited edition version of most books, I get to see it without selling and arm and a leg.

What's the point of paying twice the cost of a book that becomes obsolete in 5 years? Not buying a permanent thing here.

Most of my gaming books are electronic, even before GW released digital products.

I don't get all the GW hate on this. They just offer the product, only people that want it have to pay for it. This isn't a 'money grab', it is simply offering a product.
