Doom of Malan'tai shadow in the warp question

If a synapse creature is within range of a unit for shadow of the warp to occur, does that change anything about the Doom of Malan'tai's enemy leadership test power?

I beleive SITW only affects psychic tests, not all leadership tests.

Only psychic tests, unfortunately.

There are 3 ways to potentially reduce LD for spirit leech tests.

Aura of despair (affecting the unit in their shooting phase).

Deathleaper on a character in the unit (assuming he had higher than the grunts to begin with).

Warlord trait that makes you test on lowest LD in unit (which could work with Deathleapers ability).

Damn, that's a shame. Am I wrong in saying only the Broodlord has Aura of Despair?

Yes, but remember it is used in the assault phase, so it only works on the *opponents* turn. (as Jabberwocky mentioned)

Don't you use the highest leadership in the squad, so even if the attached character has their leadership reduced, you would use the general leadership of the squad - not the lower character Leadership?

I think that's why they were mentioning the warlord trait which makes everyone around them use the lowest leadership.

maugrim, you are correct, but at least the overall Ld gets lowered that way.

Which is also why I included the bit in brackets.

If marines have LD 8 and you reduce the commander from 10 to 7, they are now testing on 8 instead of 10.

If the marines are 9 and the sarge is 9 and you reduce him down to 6, they test on 9 anyway so no effect.
