Are Command Barges worth it in a 500 point Necron

I heard some talk of Command Barge being a great inclusion in a 500 point army. Can someone elaborate on why/how it would be effective?

If they are talking a surflord, those things costs roughly 240 points with the generic upgrades. That's nearly half your list. That said, it will take some mighty lucky rolling for them to deal with it.

I would recommend an Annihilation Barge instead at 500. For 90 points, it will be super durable (I don't know of too many things in 500 that can deal with AV13), and a S7 gun will mow down just about anything.

Any necron vehicle is crazy powerful in 500 points. There is almost nothing your opponent can take to deal with the AV13 short of a MC and not neuter their list to deal with it.
