Hullo hive, it's been a bit since my last painting post. The pictures and models I'm about to show you are a few weeks old. I didn't get around to posting them hot off the worktable because life happened.
In light of the hype over the new rulebook, I thank those of you that have found time to check out this thread. I wish the lighting and quality of the images were better! Without further delay, here are the 10 Ripper Swarms I finished in early June!
Once again, sorry for the drab images! I did my best in photoshop but the lighting that day was terrible (I try for natural sunlight when possible). Sadly it's been cloudy and rainy this week so I couldn't even rephotograph these!
Many people are now commenting on how my nids have a "deep sea" feel to them. I have to agree with them. It wasn't my intent to make them seem like they were underwater, but it's not undesirable, everyone seems to enjoy them. I do regret not putting more interesting terrain on the Ripper bases since I did go for 3 per base instead of 5.
As I usually do, here's an image of all my painted minis. Scarabus is growing!
WHAT'S NEXT:
I know many of you are wanting to see me paint up a big bug, that was my original plan after these guys. However, due to some odd circumstance, I'm currently halfway through painting 12 Hormagaunts, so that's what I'll be posting next. While I'm working on painting the Hormagaunts, I've been slowly magnetizing my Warriors, once they're done (and I get more primer) I'll paint those up for you guys to see!
Also some good news! My meager force of 2 battleforces and a Pyrovore has now increased to include 3 Hive Guard! These are courtesy of a friend who bought and sent them to me as a Birthday gift! Those might end up being my next project after the Hormagaunts if the Warriors aren't ready, my friend is itching to see his gift to me painted.
Feel free to suggest what bug(s) I should paint next. I'm always open to what you guys want to see next.
