what weapons to choose on a reaver titan?

my lovely wife came into some money and has amazingly said she'd buy me a reaver titan. wow.

but i'm seriously struggling to decide what weapons to get.

already have a warhaound with plasma blast gun and twin turbo laser.

will be most likely used against a whole host of nid gargantuan creatures and an eldar phantom titan.

so what weapons would you use? its not as easy as you mite think.

considering converting a warhaound weapon for carapace or makig a vortex missile, but the apoc missile launcher is a signature weapon for a reaver.

got 10 days until cheaque clears. not many days to make such an important decision

Vortex missle and 2x laser blasters. The laser blasters have the ability to deal lots of wounds or structure points which is what your going to need for the inv save on both the eldar titan and Heirophant. S7 apoc missle launcher isnt going to do mich against anything but inf.

I'd go for a turbo laser destructor, if they can have it, i'm going on memory.
Or if you want to completely kill everything (like me) use the money to build a warlord, I had a game using mine... alot of seven year olds got angry

Go for the ones that look coolest.

It's apocalypse, better to have sometihng that looks badass and does reasonably well than sometihng that looks dull, kills too much stuff and annoys people.

To deal with Tyranid GCs and a Phantom Titan I'd equip mine with a Laser Blaster on the carapace, and a pair of Turbo Lasers in the arms. Seven 5" Blast Destroyer shots will lay waste to vehicles and infantry alike, and will take down titans and super-heavies with minimal fuss. The Vortex Missile is tempting, but it can only deliver a maximum of 6 wounds/structural damage points to one unit and is only useful really against another titan - anything else is overkill. The fully Laser-equipped Reaver can output more than this each turn, and can threaten anything on the table. If you want to trade some D-strength shots for greater infantry-killing potential, swap the Laser Blaster for a Gatling Blaster. Throws out six S8 5" Blast Ordnance shots instead of the Laser Blaster's three D-strength ones.

I suggest going for the ones that look the coolest. The only suggestion I do have is don't go for the titan close combat weapon, only being able to attack superheavies in CC, no thanks.

As for attacking gargantuans, they strike first, have more attacks, and 2d6 to penetrate. It's just a mistake.

i think the issue here is the cost, each weapon costs about £50-£60, its like buying a baneblade for each arm.

Why not actual Baneblades for arms? Make a Power Ranger Reaver that disassembles into several other vehicles.

It really doesn't matter. They all do insane (please do not swear) and will kill 1,000 points by the first turn. Except for the world's biggest power fist, that JUST LOOKS AWESOME.

As said above; they are expensive, but I have a friend who bought all the weapons and has magnetized the lot. The thinking is - if you are splashing out on a Reaver, you might as well make the investment and have every combination possible.

To be fair he then got it painted by commission for £500...so maybe he has more money than sense...

could only afford 3 weapons. went with apoc missile launcher laser blaster and gatling blaster in the end. laser blaster goes without explanation. and thought others would look the better to go with it. plus should be fairly ard on battlefield

The gatling blaster and laser blaster are both carapace weapons though? And I don't think FW makes an apocalypse launcher that can go in the arm slot?
