Most EPIC game moment for you?

I am just wondering what your guy's most epic gaming experience was. For me, it was when Doom stuck right next to a massive cluster of bikes and, when the smoke cleared, wiped out over 600 points!

the most epic things I have seen have been from the other side of the table. one time my hive tyrant and 3 guards were decimated by a squad of assault marines with meltas on the first turn of the game.

The best thing I can remember having happen to me is my mawlok destroying a whole unit of sisters of battle marines... there were about 20 of those sisters.

I've had my Pathfinders bring down a Tervigon turn 1, a couple times. Always a great feeling in objective games

My Tyrant Deathstar vs a Swarmlord Deathstar was pretty epic. Instant death all round and some real lucky rolls to come out as the victor.

I had one of my Hive Guard tie combat with a daemon prince.

Aw yes, the DOOM! I love that guy. A 5-man squad of Terminators deep striked right next to it (Very clever, I know.) along with some more Spehs Mehrehns. In one shooting phase I sapped the life from ALL the Terminators and 3 of the marines, then proceeding to eat more in their shooting phase.

Pity it's vulnerable to S.8 and above ;_;

I would have to say my most epic moment was when my flyrant (2x scyth) tore down and exploded the central tower of the fortress of redemption. Objective marker was on top, enemy had unit of marines hiding inside like the cowards the are. it gave me my second objective of the game and the win as the game ended the turn after that when I wiped out the marine unit sitting inside.

ran 10 warlocks and a farseer into a 1 wound obliterator. 4 rounds of combat later it had saved 63 wounds in a row before finally going down.

While not incredibly epic, I had a trio of Genestealers stall against a Dreadnought for four assault phases. First assault phase they ripped off his CC Weapon, and he killed one, then in the next three assaults he missed or rolled a 1 to wound every time but once, and my last Stealer stayed in combat long enough to tie him up, preventing him from contesting the nearby objective.

A zoanthrope withstanding 1500pts of Imperial Guard shooting...
Including Basalisk shells, Chimera gun things, Infantry lasguns. I passed all the Invuns.

Unfortunately, I then proceded to miss the tank that was right in front of me...

There have been a lot over the years, but I think my favorite is still my last Game at the 2007 OFCC.

I had most of my Army wiped out in the first Turn or two, doing essentially no damage in return. Then my Chaos Lord and his Retinue proceeded to wipe out something like 2/3 of the opposing Army in three Turns of constant Assaults.

The die roll ended the Game with my Chaos standing alone, one Wound remaining, in the exact center of the Table, staring down my Opponent's entire Firebase.

In an earlier Game in the same Tournament, I had a handful of Culties charge a 200-something Point Daemon Prince, and kill him with some spectacular Rolling.

In hind sight this isn't really amazing but- Me and my buddy had both just started playing 40k (my Eldar and his Tau) and i got the first turn. We had both just got tanks, and they were big and scary at the time cause of all the crazy rules and AV they had so both of us were a little scared of what they would do.

Turn one, i decide to let my pathfinders take a shot at his Hammerhead, nothing else could hit it and i wanted to see how tough this thing would be. And to his dismay, i get a penetrating hit, and role for my damage... 6.

In the first turn of the game, before he could even move, his pride and joy exploded in a mess of metal, damaging some near by fire warriors too. It ended up being one of the most intense games we have ever played, for both of us.

For me, my most epic moment was when a squad of 10 Gaunts managed to immobilize & destroy a weapon from a tank (Land Raider I think). My opponent thought these gaunts couldn't do anything to this tank and drove past them to hit my bigger creatures up the board. Got to my turn and I was behind him so I shot at his rear armour. Shortly after this some Genestealers turned up and destroyed the tank. My opponent was not happy after that

My Beastlord went one on one in a Challenge with a Black Orc Warboss in a Fantasy game. This was on the first turn of combat, and I figured I'd like to see a proper challenge in a game for a change, rather than dodgy character assassinations. Luckily, my opponent agreed.


Thanks to various items they both had the same Initiative, so swung at the same time (8th ed), and managed to perfectly do enough wounds to one another and fail to save just the right amount so that they both died at exactly the same time. It was something like 250 points vs. 250 points worth of generals going thanks to one epic challenge. Wasn't even any odd one use only items to mess things up - just good old honest combat.




Second most epic moment was when a simple Tomb Prince with some archers took a charge from Grimgor Ironhide and his mob of Da Immortalz. The Prince issued a challenge despite having barely anything on him, and the Orc player accepted in mild amusement.

The unit was immediately wiped out, and Grimgor obliterated the Prince with at least one point of overkill. Then, this being the old TK book, the Prince's curse kicked in.

Grimgor failed his leadership test and suffered just enough wounds and failed enough saves for the curse to completely kill him. He was on full wounds too. That was one unhappy Orc player.

i had one ravener vs 5 vanguard marines all with power weapons in the final assault of the final turn with both of us tied with objectives. so i had to wipe out his squad for the win. unlikely you say except i rolled 5 6s and rended every last one of those marines into oblivion.

or the time 5 imp guardsmen rapid firinig their lasguns to kill a trygon by rolling 6 6s to wound which the trygon failed each and every save. although that was more epic for my opponent than it was me

tournamnet today: special rule during the last game it was my Orks vs Imperial guard.

Falling skies- the players roll off at the begining of each turn, the player with the highest roll gets to place a blast template wherever they want. The other player then rolls to scatter. anything under the blast gets a strength 7 ap- hit. saves are allowed normally.

it immobilised one of my opponent's chimeras on the first turn.

alternatly back in 4th i took out a landraider with a spore mine.
