and we're back with another exciting face off between two friends.
As promised I have another battle report for you guys. This one is going to be a smaller battle allowing me to customize the list a bit more and keeping the game going quicker.
and these are the new lists:

XV8 bodyguard w/plasma rifle/Burst cannon/x2 gun drones
Elites-

Wave serpent w/spirit stones/brightlance
Wave serpent w/spirit stones/brightlance
Wave serpent w/spirit stones/brightlance
And those are the lists this will again be a fun game, a bit smaller so there's less room for error but greater consequences when one occurs.
Anyways we're ready for another battle and set our game faces, some more frightening than others.

LOL, we still look creepy.
Game type - Seize ground with 5 objectives...but we decided 5 was a lot and lowered the number to 3 since between the two of us we only have 4 troop choices.
Deployment - Pitched battle
And here's the game board, we've done the same basic designations, fences and edges up to the plateaus are difficult terrain, the circular plateau to the right and the rocks to the left are area terrain.
here's the deployment of both armies.
Eldar go first, tau fail to seize the initiative.
Turn #1
Eldar move and fire doing no damage, tau move and fire achieving a weapon destroyed result on a wave serpent removing it's brightlance.
Turn #2
Eldar and tau move and shoot both doing no damage, sad really.
So far I'm winning with destroying a turret ;D ;D ;D yay me.
Turn #3
Eldar move and fire killing 5 fire warriors sending the squad into fall back, wrecking a devilfish and immobilizing the other, Tau roll and bring on stealth team, tau move and fire killing 5 fire dragons, and an entire squad of dire avengers.
Turn #4
Eldar move and fire killing a marker drone and 1 fire warrior, tau roll and bring on the battlesuit team. Tau move and fire killing 8 dire avengers, and exploding 2 wave serpents.
Turn #5
Eldar move and fire killing 4 drones from battlesuit squad. Tau move and fire killing the rest of the firedragons, and the rest of the Dire avengers and exploding the last wave serpent.
Roll to see if game continues. . . . . It continues.
Turn #6
farseer engages the battlesuits in close combat, 1 wound to the farseer.
(sorry forgot to take a pic of the battle field for this turn)
Roll to see if game continues. . . . . It continues.
Turn #7
Farseer fails to wound the battlesuits again and is killed in combat. Eldar tabled, at the end of turn #7
Victory goes to the tau, yay my first win against his eldar with my tau. . . happy dance. . . anyways I ended the game with 1 objective and no more enemies. We had a fun, fair game it was indeed a good day.
When we were in the fifth turn I think it was we decided to come up with a story behind why the eldar were dying so easily to my tau, so here it is:
The eldar council has looked into the future and has deemed it unacceptable to attain victory on the battlefield. For the cost of victory will end in the destruction of an entire eldar fleet and exodite world. So when the tau thought they were killing the eldar it was in fact a ruse. At the last possible moment the eldar would unleash their psychic power and vanish into the warp to escape. so in the case of the exploding tanks it was in fact the power of warp that caused the tanks to disappear in a flash of light and flame. And when it came for farseer to leave he played up his exit and engaged the tau commander in glorious close combat, he was thrown to ground up against a pile of ruble but before the commander could deal the killing blow the farseer struck the ground with his weapon opening a portal beneath him into the warp, and he vanished. So really no eldar died in this battle.
thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it, C&C are welcome as usual.
cheers.
