tau markerlight question

So I was running through my tau dex and going over possible strategies when I came upon a rule that I'm not sure about. Perhaps you guys could offer some insight on the topic.

So in the markerlight profile it says that a markerlight can be used to set a counter to offer the firing unit one of the following effects.

One of the effects is this:

-to allow a unit which fires at the target to do so at +1 to its Ballistic Skill. This effect may be stacked, allowing a Ballistic Skill up to a maximum of 5.

My question is if I get my hammerhead gunship to use the markerlight and the rule I stated above would this rule apply to all of the hammerheads weapons, such as a smart missile system if it was in range of the target of the main gun. So if I fired all the hammerheads weapons at a single target and used the markerlight special rule, would the increased BS apply to all of the hammerheads weapons or just one?

All of its weapons. The rule changes the units BS by +1 for each marker expended and doesn't say anything about using more than 1 weapon.

Another thought though. What if the Hammerhead had a Target Lock and shot another target with its SMS? Does it get its improved BS for both targets?

"To allow a Unit which fires at the Target to do so at +1 to its Ballistic Skill." Looks to me like "to do so" refers just to firing at that Target, so it wouldn't get the BS boost against the other Unit.

It would apply to all weapons fired at that Target by the Hammerhead (or other Tau Unit), though.

ya that's what I thought, just wanted to clear that up before entering a tourny or other game.

...and once that marker is expended, it is gone -
mark up a marine unit with a single markerlight, spend it on the Hammerhead, the Plasma/fusion gun crisis suits don't get +1 as well.

use your markers wisely.
