I can't say that I was precise when I painted my Nids, but I can say that I have an awsome color scheme.

These are Raveners with Acid sacs (gives Rending). Sorry for the blurry photo.



Half of my army is currently unpainted or half painted, so I'll post the rest of the pics when I finish painting a brood.

If you are talking about red undercoat you should try to look for coat in your hardwarestore. I testet one (it was not water based) and it gives at least on platic a really tough coat. It needs a lonk time to dry and looks a little bit ugly directly after coatign. I will try to make some pictures.

I don't think that there is a need to use the original gw stuff.

THERE'S A CATCH

The green base makes my Nids' blue carapace stand out, maybe because of the contrast. If I color the bases with another color, or if I leave it black (I've tried), the effect is gone, or weaker.

And blue and green is a good combination, don't you think?

Blue and green go well. Yellow might work for an alternative effect. This is one of the best black bodied schemes I've seen.

I'm using squad colors on my IG bases (So, 1st Squad, 1st platoon, for example, is yellow, just like their right shoulderpad, whereas my commander has a copper-edged base to go with his copper shoulderpad) so that I can tell them apart more easily. As for my 'nids, I'm going with a sort of sandy-tan color that will go with the sand flocking I'll be doing on the bases.
