Digestion Pool with Capillary Tower

Ok, I'm wanting to start making my first piece of Tyranid terrain, and I decided to start with the most fun looking items; the digestion pool and capillary tower.

Basically, what I'm wanting is pictures of ones you guys have done (or found, as the case may be) and ideas on what to use etc.

If you could, that would be great, and if I get the materials I was promised, I shall post pics along the way.

Why the Capirally tower? Where you need it?
I rather think the towers should be nearby the pool not inside.

Uh, you can actually buy capillary towers from Forge World if you want.

Okey making the pool is kinda complicate... You need the polysysteris for base.
Sand + pva glue to make the half diggested stuff
Complicate color mix to create the diggestion pool surface.
Polysteris ball halves for bubles. And a LOT gloss varnish.

Are you ready to do a lot work and spend a lot cash?

step 1 - cut a base out

step 2 - bevle the edges

step 3 - apply shallow crater made of foam (insulation foam for best results)

step 4 - cover foam with wood glue or plaster

step 5 - flock crater (hole optional)

step 6 - paint crater 1 colour, paint inside crater bottom colour you want the digestion stuffs to be. for deeper digestion pools a couple options are available. ether pour some plaster so the top is how deep you want the pool to be reflected and simply paint where the deeper parts would be darker, or paint the same way and use water effects.

step 7 - spray with matte finish clear coat for protection. if you did a deep pool using water effects you should mask the water part so as not to dull the surface. once you have finished this step if you used the water effects you can ether call it finished or move to step 8 for an even higher shine

step 8 - gloss water with ether, high gloss spray, brush on gloss, water effects, or white glue.

as you can see the edges of the pool wich would be shallower are painted a lighter colour and it gets darker more towards the middle

i used spray paint and melted foam so it looked organic then put rippers on the sides to look like there going into it

Has anyone considered getting bones from cow tails to build Capilary Towers from?

I noiced the inside faces of the Forge World Models look rather like vertebrae. Perhaps a butcher shop or Slaughterhouse could supply them cheap.
