Hi
Having just resumed collecting 40k and coming to Tyranids and gathering myself a ridiculous collection far too quickly I figured the support of the forum would help motivate me!
I will post a log of the next batch of models from start to finish to log the techniques used but for a start ill show you what ive got! Also my crapapaces are really annoying me at the moment as I cant figure out how to feather them to make them look good. I cant wet blend and want to work from calthan brown through to bonewhite to white tips to get a really dark boneish feel to it. Possibly Ink washing the shadows of them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Also for the Trygon scything talons i have used Water based oil paints to allow for a really good blend but dont feel like that would be appropriate for the style of carapace I want as it would look too similar!
Excuse the horrible table cloth, its the only one I can get paint on for obvious reasons
Last but by no means least! i need some help with my Hive Fleet name. Pelusa is the name of a purple polar bear, which are animals i respect for their power and stoicism. Violet Abyss is slightly less ambiguous. Purple Rain sounded funny potentially for a Drop Pod army
EDIT: Indigo Abyss? Thought of that too late to add! can a mod change this?
Thanks
Genestealers nearing completion. Need Fine Detail work tongue and teeth etc.
Termagants so many it scares me!
Trygons and Hive Guard, Im really enjoying these so far!
An old metal Hive Tyrant a friend has donated to me Needs stripping and repainting!
Techniques/Closeups. Will Give a detailed explanation soon
Not satisfied with the carapaces at the moment, especially not for the larger models
Water based oil blend of the Trygon Talons
HQ Photots and explanation soon (ive carbon copied Les Burleys technique he used for Thunder Hammers, so credit to him)
