necromoth I had to bend the tail down into a more horizontal loop. Then I pinned it to the base where the tail first touches and where it starts to lift.
By the way, that's The Red Terror not a Ravenor.

ohkay did you drill a hole for the magnet? What size magnet are you using? Anything over 1/8" is overkill. With a magnet installed in an arm, place another magnet onto the arm magnet. Put glue in the hole in the body arm socket. Using the magnet arm, shove the magnet in place. Rotate the arm so the magnets separate while keeping pressure on the arm to hold the newly installed magnet in place. Once magnets have separated, pull arm free. Use plastic paintbrush handle to fine tune. Magnet should be snug in mounting hole, don't overdrill.

but won't the superglue get the magnet ontop of the one you need to glue glued with it? because thats what happen to some of my magnets, they ended up fliping over and glue on to the other magnets... and i end up with 4 magnets glue tight together, can't even break apart.... so i don't know now.... lol... well i still have like 26 of them and i used the size thats been recommended on the 1st post... i think their a bit big, but its ok...

Smaller stronger magnets are better. I squirt the glue into the body socket I have drilled for the magnet. I shove the magnet in the socket, it sinks in to it's height, so when I rotate the limb with the magnet on it, the magnets separate at this join because the body one is sunk in the hole and can't move. The limb ball keeps pressure on the body magnet until you can rotate the limb so it's magnet is facing up out of the way of the magnetic path of conduction. Try holding the limb ball against the inserted magnet until glue dries.

Ohkay, I don't know how, but you reversed the polarity of your magnet.

yes... that can happen...
(science allert) did you know that the magnetic north and south are moving? in about 100-200 years, the north pole will be in canada? and (for no known reason), they can actually switch!! (imagine that happening back in the 1500's at sea...)

i superglue the magnets to the arm yes, but then I wrap it it in a little greenstuff togive a smoother transition and help seal that magnet in

Another sweet idea is to glue magnets to the bases of all you nids and make board with scenery and magnets to stick tour guys to, i have one that a bout 2' X3' it holds 12 stealers 13 termas 1 tyrant 1 fex 1 biovore and sweet alien terrain. I made it out of polystyrene and green stuff got the idea from tau on line(kill me now)

LOL Anyhow I ordered a slue of those power magnets a long time ago for my Skaven army. Here is what I did. I cut a piece of luan (thin plywood) and cut a sheet of thin gauge steel sheet the same size. Using contact cement I bonded them together. Next I roughed up the the top side of the metal for better adhesion and added sand it. The magnets worked all the way through the paint and sand to the sheet. In fact they still worked even through my styrene movement trays!!!
Thing is I took the magnets of the models cuz I was having more trouble with them being so powerful that they would click the models together. Another problem was that if you dont mind the polarity and center the magnets , they tend to force the odd man out of formation. Of course this is less of a problem for 40k as you dont have blocks of troops.
Now on to what I came to disscus. Im building my fex and trying to decide if I want to use magnets on it. The Fex is done save for the head and arms. So we are talking a minimum of 5 magnets +2 for the set of crushing claws. Now that would be 13+ if I were to use them for the socket and the part, but I think I could use metal slugs on the beast and the magnets on the parts (or visa versa). Only one side of each connection has to be magnetic.
Thing is Im not even sure I want to mess with all this anyway. For any of you that have done this, would you recommend it?
