Preview happened today on war com that was heavy into gsc!

Necromunda preview is around hive secondus, aka the genestealer infested one. They have super mutated pure strains and neophytes. Looks to be good fodder for kitbashing that I'd love to do if I ever find the time for hobby.

Genestealer cult looks to be getting two awesome new boxes. The battle force has two rock grinders, the new character, abberants, an abominant, and neophytes.
The new combat patrol has a ridgerunner, bikes, alphus, and 10 acolytes/metamorphs!
The new character is called a Benefictus and is a psycher that's around antitank (described as as strong as a las cannon). The video mentions that it gives our lethal hits to the squad it's leading. It's a bit weird looking (like a neurogaunt duct taped on top of a magus).
The new codex is getting 5 new detachments and it appears the army rule is largely unchanged. One detachment is the same, one around abberants and melee, one around horde shooting, and one around outriders. I don't remember if they mentioned the last one. Sounds like we can have 50% brood brothers and they have a hobby section in the codex on kitbashing them.

New boxes appear AWESOME in my opinion. The hobby aspect of these releases (and kill team termination) is 10/10. I'm going to be kitbashing that new chat with some neurogaunts or extra nid bits and a spare magus.

We'll have to see how the new codex rules are. Fingers crossed for good rules.

I'm thinking a July release date (usually 2 months out from the "this is the next codex) announcement. Now if only I had time to build, kitbash, or paint.

Don't always take warcom as the premier understander of information they obtain, but they did call the vehicle from THE FA section an Achilles rock runner, so maybe they have new variants for the vehicles.

After the teaser, the video is an interview with the design team so I take that as straight from the people who made the codex.

+1 leadership and no other detachment benefits say hello?

Honestly not sure what they'll do there. Embedding cult characters in guard squads would be really cool though

I love GSC, but after the short life span of the past few codexes and my current lack of playing time I can't remember a time when I was less enthused about a new one. Probably sit this one out.

I loved their 9e codex and got a ton of mileage out of it. Also, im not as enthused with the nid codex competitively. My third army is custodes so I'm hoping gsc is a win

I loved it at first. Then the nerfed it. It wasn't even that egregious of a win rate. I played it more than any other book in 9th.

They made all the return abilities work a little worse. It was always difficult to make it work, but in great hands it was a game changer. The cost increase for aberrants was annoying because I leaned into them hard. They were deceptively resilient. They didn't look great on paper but they were obnoxiously hard to remove. They didn't hit as hard as I would like, but they hit hard enough. Maybe I will buy the new codex. They are a fun army and god knows I spent enough them. Such an expensive army. I paid a small fortune for the metamorph upgrades from a European company that shall not be named to have them all made redundant. I also bought and built the ridgerunner spam but never got around to playing it. I have way more invested in my 25,000+ points of 'nids, but point for point the GSC army cost me way more. I'm a collector first and foremost and everything comes around eventually but I'm just not into 40K as much right now. Most of my gaming time is spent in Malifaux, Bolt Action, and Blood and Plunder in the past few years. But 40K is my first love.

Fluff article is up, so the precodex article train is rolling. guessing this means we'll get our codex preorder sooner (2-6 weeks) rather than later (2+ months).

Tldr; new brood brothers detachment allows you to take 50% brood brothers. They gain some detachment benefits and there's some neat strats to allow for use of cult ambush on brood brothers.

3 new detachments previewes.

1. Xenocreed Congregation: reroll charges for specific units if being lead by characters. Specific characters get 3+fnp while leading a unit
2. Biosanctic Broodsurge: +1 ro charge for abberants, biophagus, purestrains. If those charges, +1 to attacks characteristic
3. Outlander Claw: bikes/vehicles double oc. Bikes have sticky objectives.

These look ok but are very focused around specific units

Muscle beach and mad max look like a lot of fun, gotta say. Kinda bummed at only one generalist detachment but it's a tweaked index formation so... Fingers crossed.
