It's probably going to be within two to three weeks of the leviathan launch, so that's one to two weeks from when the books could be purchased. That's pretty quick for them and for the size of the updates. I do miss 8e when they dropped FAQs two weeks later like clockwork.

We do have some competitive choices.
Biovores, Exocrines, Tyrannofexes, Haruspex, Zoanthropes. So at lease we have a bit of variety to maintain interest.

GW did get one thing correct. If you are going to accidently release a game with big imbalance problems, then the last thing you want to do is have the army with the least variety of unit choices as the worst army.

Imagine if Imperial Knights was not the best army, but near the bottom tier, that would really suck, as there would be no alternative unit choices for competitiveness.

GW dodged an unhappy situation by making Knights the best.

A worrying development would be simply to increase the cost of Knights to bring down their competitiveness. This does not address the issue that some armies don't have a fun game experience, against robust vehicles.

I mean, if even armies WITH good anti-tank arsenal have a rough time against knights (except for Eldar but those will get nerfed hard anyways), then knights will need to get taken down a peg regardless. That every army should have at least SOME decent ways of dealing with tanks is an unrelated problem. And as far as that goes, we at least got 1-3 not-terrible choices. Would be nice if some of the other units we have got better at their intended job (Shock-guard anyone?), but yeah.

Yeah, If i had to guess, I'd say Knights (armigers included) and Eldar will get points adjustments very soon, waaaay before the 1st codex drops i think. As will some of the problem SM units. Tsons is the only "top army this moment" which will perhaps stay under the radar lol.

i think tson and bananas both will dodge pre-codex nerfhammer. smurfs will dodge it mostly i guess (mainly desolation will get points correction, but oath will stick for now).
