What Legends datasheets will we get?

So we know after the recent ForgeWorld cull that some of those units will be getting Legend datasheets, so I was thinking what else we might see.

Likely to get:
Forgeworld: Malanthrope, Stone Crushers, Dimachaeron, Flying Rippers, Meiotic Spores
Codex: Termagants with legacy wepaons, Red Terror, Shrikes.

Not likely:
Forgeworld: Spore Chimney, Capillary Towers, Brood Nest (GW seems to have forgotten these existed)
Codex: Doom of Malantai, Ymgarl Stealers, Mycetic Spores (none had official models)

There is one I would really like to see, that they used to sell, or least an upgrade kit for, and was very popular for a few editions, Flying Hive Tyrant with devourers.  But I am not hopeful on that front.

Any that I missed?  Or ones you would like to see?

Sort of, they are both drop pods, but the Mycetic Spore was stationary and had less weapons. Think the whole Chapterhouse lawsuit is the reason why Tyrannocytes replaced them. This is why I put them in the "we ain't getting them section".

In my experience they only give these datasheets to units that are in the current codex that are being discontinued. Shrikes weren't in our last codex, so don't expect to see them. They typically don't give them only for weapon options. Let's face facts: once they are legacied their useful life is over.

For the basement dwelling beer and pretzel player like me any datasheet is better than none, and we would still use legends. I agree for competitive play. The only reason I am vaguely hopeful for shrikes is they didn't seem to release many Legends datasheets for 9th, so maybe stuff that was cut in 8th may get a look in if they are reviewing units for Legends. Otherwise my 6 shrikes will just be warriors with melee weapons that aren't as good at staying out of line of sight.

But they have said that they will never upgrade a datasheet after the first. That means that the ones launched in 9th are defunct now that stat profiles have changed. It simply won't work. You can make up your own rules, but then it isn't really 40K.

Hmmm, you might be right, but I read it differently, as in once released for an edition they wouldn't be updated once codexes were released or during quarterly points updates. That leaves the possibility that previous legends sheets might be updated once for the new edition, and any that didn't exist would be created (like they said they are doing for the recently culled Forge World models). We'll see soon enough, but if shrikes and the Red Terror aren't in there I will be pinging an email to the rules team. Probably be ignored though.

Dimacheron and Malanthrope are the only Legends datasheets I think we will see.

Everything else from Forgeworld was retired to Legends back in 8th, and I don't think they will be giving them 10th ed sheets. The point of Legends is to offer a consolation prize to players when cutting something from the game. They are unlikely to give it a second thought afterwards.

Legends is not where old models get a new life. Legends is the farm your dog was sent to after your parents took it to the vet.

This isn’t true. The last time we got an index, shrikes and the red terror were included despite not being in the previous codex.

And our *only* Legends this edition was only for options - spike rifles and strangle webs for termagants. So there’s definitely precedence for just giving us Legends options.

You misunderstood what I said. Once GW moves a unit to legend they stop making the model and no longer update the rules. Models have come and gone over the years. But the legends classification is a one way dead end street.

I don't understand why they don't just make a Shrike kit. Hell maybe they will since we have a Winged Tyranid Prime now.

They're probably going to make one later this edition. We know we're getting more models just not sure what. I'm better new hormogaunts though.

For anyone interested, a GW commment on a Facebook thread in response to a question about the Forgeworld Legends datasheets and points was "We'll be uploading them in a few weeks".
