Official Update on Crusher and Levi

There's a new document about which Psychic Awakening books are still legal. Leviathin and Crusher are dead, officially.

I'm glad they got this out now, it would have been terrible for the game of our supplement could be pulled on top of the codex.

It came out in what, mid October? Glad I didn't buy a copy!

The new codex does look a little sparse on stratagems now though. It's my only real disappointment from the new 'dex

Same, and I will NOT be complaining about fewer strats to keep straight!
I think GW leans on strats as too much of a crutch as it is. Our codex does not feel like it needs more crutch right now and the strats we have are pretty great!

Next time I order some minis, I'll pick up a PoM and probably a Malceptor, but it HAS been a while since I bought any nids.

I also prefer less strats to worry about, as long as the few that we have are good (which the codex ones seem to be). But this is just more incentive not to buy full supplements for just a few pages of rules if they may get invalidated after a few months.

I can totally see why people are frustrated, but I don't see it as that bad of value. The supplement was basically the same price as taking my partner to a single movie and buying theatre snacks. I'm not trying to be glib about money, it's just dollar in for hour of enjoyment, it still feels like ok value.

I feel like everyone knows that the length of these campaign rules are risky at best and to toss hands up now is really just deluding yourself in the first spot. That’s exactly why I’ve never bought any of these books.

I’m glad these were removed. It will prevent an overnerf from GW if all results were clouded from both being run with the new codex.

Other armies RoR: Don't worry everyone these are all legal, even the early ones where the codex wasn't even in sight.

Nids: You want good rules? Here are the 2 pieces of whatever direction that we might think about taking the Tyranids. Of course neither one is actually going to stick around, and you are not allowed to be upset that it is the freshest RoR and also the first to get axed.

As I lament this sleight I for one welcome our new Bug Overlords!

Let's be honest.. It is nice filling up the cup with tears of the other OP armies. It has been a good 14+ years since Nids have had this kind of power.

Edit add: I just realized I have been playing Tyranids for just under half my life.

That’s a really weird reason you’ve taken offence here. Anyone can tell that they used the AoR and the Leviathan supplement to test stuff for the new codex. They did not do this for other AoR and has nothing to do with being a tyranid thing.

I don’t understand why everyone thinks the game they play is out to get them because of the faction/army/etc they place. It’s just completely illogical.

I would say that putting crusher in a relatively cheap white dwarf even if only for a few months was not a slap in the face. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was an intent to keep it live but it turned out to be way too powerful and stupid broken With new dex.

I think they wanted to keep CS but they just never expected for nids to do so well, especially since they never probably conceived of people using all the FW models for it, or that with even a modest buff we could top the tables.

My disappoint come by the fact that our rules are more or less the only rules in warzones supplements that they quitted when they could easily adjust them with a pdf as they did for the most of the time.

if there was more warzones with some part quitted... ok... a shame but fine... but yeah seems really that everytime is our turn... somethign weird happens and hit us...
