Another new tyranid model please

Take this with a grain of salt if you want but I think just getting the parasite of mortrex model is kinda wack. Yes I know it’s been years since nids got a new model but I feel like even if gw couldn’t put there brain together and come out with a completely new model for a species that’s suppose to be constantly adapting. They could atleast update some super old models especially with the new codex coming out and wanting to enforce playing the nids how the lore makes them seem. Like give us a new red terror or deathleaper please…

That's how it is. Gw clearly showing they don't care about nids as mush as other xenos.

Eldar had some insanely old models, like older than nids. We could use a refresh of our models but I'm glad eldar got updated. Note: I don't own eldar

which is kinda stupid seeing as nids are the big bad threat of the galaxy and necrons but they got a bunch of new stuff and we haven’t.

Honestly also if am very happy about the codex seems to be, i confess i'm a bit deluded by the news about the tyr models range.

Considering the octarius book where there was rumors about new gant genoforms, i was expecting as minimum a repack with vintage weapons options like spike rifle and strangle webs

Instead we have neither gant biomorfic rules to justify these rumors

I'm fully expecting that Tyranids will get the Necrons treatment at the start of 10th edition. New basic troops, plastic LOW, and other bits. I also think this codex was originally intended to be out last year alongside Octarius, but got held up by various logistical issues.

We may also see a new KT kit before 10th shows up.

Silly Tyranid players. Never before has a nid asked for more. New xenos models would have cut into time slots GW need for new primaris lieutenants, and we can't have that, now can we?

That aside, I too am a little disgruntled. A single new model. Repackaging kits and slimming down options to fit current sprue layouts... It feels like a very spartan release. At least the book has some updated rules with some major changes. I'd have hated to pay that much for a book that was barely changed.

I mean honestly, while we got some real stinkers (pyrovore/biovore, lictors), Tyranids aren't in as bad a place model wise as say Eldar or old Necrons were. Would I have preferred plastic Deathleaper over Parasite? Sure, but it's not like we're Eldar where a few years ago the majority of the kits were old enough to drink.

Plenty of armies only got 1 new model. It isnt like Nids were the only ones.

And please try to remember, outside of the armies that are new to the game (SoB, DG, etc) tyranids had some of the newest models of all.

Imagine how Orks felt before their Speed Freakz, new Boyz, and crazy Squid crew.

Good grief Charlie Brown! 'Nid players will find an excuse to piss and moan about anything. This is the best Tyranid release ever. It's the most internally balanced codex that is suddenly at the top of the heap and STILL y'all find a reason to gripe. SUCK IT UP! We got what I wanted: make existing models playable > new models whose rules suck. We suddenly have models that are playable and big bugs that are really good. Oh, and warriors are good too. This is the best we have ever had it. Bunch of newbs!

I could not agree more, ive had 2 Pyrovores for like....7,8 years, never played them. My toxicrene & my haruspex have been gathering dust since....the day they released?! I actually want to play my 1 of my crones and 1 of my harpys which havent seen the table since....6th or 7th ed?! To me, they are all new releases now!

My take, if I have to choose between new kits and a solid codex, I will choose the solid codex. We have a pretty good line of models right now.
If I have to choose between brand new units vs updating old finecast to plastic, I say get rid of the finecast!
If I have to choose between Brand new never before concieved of beasties and resurrecting an old concept, I would much rather resurrect an old Nid that nearly got forgotten by time.
