Has anyone seen a Data Sheet for the Tyranocyte or Sporocyst. I had heard some hope of turn 1 deepstrking with the Sporocyst.

You can T1 DS a T-cyte and Sporocyst can be placed anywhere on the map outside of 12 of your opponents side.

It can hold up to 20 infantry models (note that is ISNT a single unit) but any model with a wound count of more than 1 takes up 3 slots OR one monster with a wounds value of 16 or less.

Sporocyst doesn't deepstrike any more, you deploy it normally and it can be deployed outside your deployment zone as long as it's 12"+ away from the enemy deployment zone/models.

AFAIK Sporocyst is the only unit that actually lost wounds.

Oooh, 20 models no unit limitation? I mean, we're not a faction with tonnes of solo characters, but that's still interesting. Hm. Going to have to think about that. But pyrovore spam sounds like fun! And six melee-Warriors can do A LOT of damage on the charge; 30 S8 AP-2 D2 attacks will dent most things, or 42 S6 AP-1 D1 if you somehow face more GEQ than MEQ.

... Just did the math; 6 bonesword warriors with AG kill 11 Marines on average, that's enough to reliably delete a full squad in a single turn. Drop one pair of swords for spitters, and you still kill about 9, and with your shooting you'll kill 2 which let's you use the Shard strat and get 3d6 drop one on the charge. Very nice.

Since we might be allowed to have multiple units of multi-wound infantry for the transport capacity.. Wouldn't 5 zoans and 1 neuro be a very durable and pretty devastating turn 1 strike into the midst of the enemy lines with that kind of mortal wound bombing

Maleceptor nuke is also an option; use the Imperative and the bonus power strat, and you can drop one action and three powers, for a potential 12MW plus smite plus whatever powers you used.

That's a yummy warp bomb to drop on something tanky!

The pod is a 100pt tax yea - so that's 270 you're delivering for this gimmick. It's not free.

True its 270 pts but its not limited to 1 either. It could be compared to a DOM in a pod. Not as good, more exspensive, and will most likely not have another turn as effective as the first, but 3 less powerfull mw bombs might not be terrible.

Maybe max 2 in 2k, any more would be a definat drop in efficiency. The second might already be, assuming the first one even makes the list .... LOL.

Does the Tyrannocyte have a minimum distance from enemies?
I can only see it in regards to any unit that has to disembark from it outside of 9" from the enemy.
Is there a general rule regarding this?

I assume the normal 9+" from enemy models, but the leaked text doesn't specify for T-cytes. Maybe it's an oversight that will get errata'd. Or is there a wording in the basic rules that cover deployed distance to enemy models?

Well...

Core rules:
„When a Reinforcement unit is set up on the battlefield, that unit typically must be set up so that it is more than a specified distance away from any enemy models (e.g. ‘you can set up this unit anywhere on the battlefield that is more than 9" away from any enemy models). Whenever such a distance is specified when setting up a Reinforcement unit on the battlefield, that distance always applies to the horizontal distance, even though normally you measure to and from the closest part of a model’s base (or hull).”

I checked the rules for the SM Drop Pod and they are the same.

Unless I’m missing something, this can mean that the Tyrranocyte can be set up closer to the enemy for a very easy charge to tie up a unit. Is there anything holding the Tyrannocyte back from charging after disembarking its’ cargo?

Funny how they write a basically identical rule even though our pod can charge and fight.
So many things need to be FAQ'd and the book is not even out yet.
