1000 Point Stampede (newbie)

Hello I've been working on building some Tyranid's recently and never played a game, this list is made of what I physically have (I also have the rest of the Nid Start Playing). I'd like to switch out the Trygon for a Hierodule because not only is it good from what it seems, but it looks totally awesome. Also the Neurothrope is the only thing I haven't got yet, I have no idea how to make this army better being a newb and not even knowing all the rules yet. I'd say I have at least a month before I can even play with these cause I've barely started building.

I have been building Tau, Tyranid and a little Sigmar Khorne stuff unable to decide which to fully choose first, and decided recently to put all my efforts to getting a bug team up and running. I have no idea what the Bounty/Progeny of Hive are worth or if I'll run them, like I said I'm totally new, plenty of time to read during the week in-between sewing chaos in the Imperium and doing cultist work, I'm gonna free these bug from their sprue prisons to eat some Astartes . Any chittering from the Hive would be loved.

First are you wanting to do Crusher Stampede (monsters get a 5++ and -1Dmg) or traditional Levi (6+++). CS: I’d drop a warrior unit and the Neuro for a Tyrant w/ wings and upgrade the Trygon to a Prime w/ -1 to-wound, Traditional: trade the Trygon for Genestealers. In both, the Hive Guard should be combined into one unit to take advantage of shoot twice, and probably run as a 5-man unit to keep points open.

Anyway, list:
- Easy up, warriors are 69 pts for that, not 81. Also could drop AG if needed.
- Trygon is meh: worth considering upgrading to prime for feed, also lets you take -1 to wound. Also dropping entirely for something else. Either way, at least take adrenal for DS options.
- Running as a single HG squad lets you maximise buffs (Swarm leader, bio-weapon, double tap).
- Swarmy's doing...what?

List isn’t Stampede legal (2 Monster, 6 infantry), so I figured I’d cover bases. With that in mind, @op: Stampede needs to have a monster unit for each infantry unit in the list. Pretty much need to remove Neuro and 1 Warrior unit and combine HG to make room for a monster unit somewhere (Tyrant is good for throwing with SL).

Ahh thank you both, I'm totally new and don't know much of the rules to building an army, I've just been trying to make a Tyranid army to play with hopefully soon. I figured one or more things would be wrong with this, the BattleSribe app I used to make this had the Hive Warrior points at that and I thought it was wrong, I just got my 40k and Sigmar books literally yesterday so I can read everything myself easily.

No sweat. You are doing fine. Crusher Stampede comes with very severe restrictions. But the upsides are good.(I am not shure if you use the word stampede just metaphorically.)
