I had to recheck the Trygon stats you're getting - they should be getting 3+ to hit (2+ Prey Sight I guess) and 6A+1 for 7A total, not 8. Relatively small diff.
Still,I'm surprised there's a supporter for them here. D6 damage is my bane esp vs thick invuls. Luckily orks have no thick invul, but it's not uncommon to roll 1 1 2 2 for damage - I've seen Imperial Knights fail to kill Nurglings in this exact fashion. I only ever run D6 damage on my Necrons DDA, because we literally do not have a better choice in that codex. Trygons are excellent value combat monsters when taking them for transport capabilities, but are otherwise a bit overpriced for what they tend to output.
That Flyrant with Boneswords, Murderous Size, and Xenogenic is pretty interesting. Most times I've seen Flyrants carry the Resonance Barb, Glands, or Scythe of Tyran as the relic of choice (SoT is primarily myself tbf, nearly no one plays behemoth). Xenogenic hasn't looked like a good pick since... ever. But with natural 5A, S7, ap-3, 4D, and mortals on 5+, that genuinely looks somewhat scary, and with behemoth we can turn that into a 4+ so it's actually pretty reliable. Might want to consider it with MRCs stock so he can still carry a gun. Not sure if it beats out the original SuperFlyrant build, since S7 instead of S8 and no exploding 6s for higher spike. But MRC will reduce the reliance on strategem to spike that damage.
The Toxicrenes have honestly seem like dead weight. They're also not cheap at 150pts - other than their trapping strategem, haven't seen it pull value, although in theory they should be decent combat monsters and on table wise they're suppose to be decent at killing vehicles and the like with that S7 rerollable. Although your list is a Preysight list, would you consider swapping the Toxis out for Carnifexen or TFexen?
EDIT: You have a guy who could potentially assassinate a key character in one sitting, assuming there's space to charge or land. Have you considered Cut Off The Head as a secondary? Having a unit of Gargs or Ravs or Lictors that can come in from DS and do ROD would also take the pressure off that 3rd obj.
Edit: nevermind. Xenogenic works on unmodified rolls of 5+, so behemoth has nothing for it.
The Trygon has a tail attack as well so 7 quality attacks and one piddly tail attack for 8. D6 damage is variable some days they will disappoint that is for sure but I don't really have access to the forge world monsters which are really the only more reliable option. I am rather zen when it comes to averages too so when I see 1,s and 2,s I don't usually get upset as I expect the game will balance out. Definitely could cost or win me a game on a lucky swing. One of the few non hive tyrant options I have though that can take out a dread in a single go. Especially since a lot of my D3 damage will be 1's and maybe a 2 whereas this guy can get up to 5. I also rather dislike their deep strike option when looking at them for damage output. Turn 1 in the last game I killed 2 jet buggies and like 4-5 bikers with my two trygons and got a flank for engage. If I had to wait until turn 2 to maybe land a 8" charge to do their damage and probably eat a CP for a charge re-roll I think I lose that game.
Yeah the flyrant is fun. Don't forget the tail can trigger the xenogenic acid too! I initially had him with the rending claws but the loss of attack and going to D3+1 vs 4 is a big deal in terms of harming something with -1 damage. The -1 damage seems fairly ubiquitous at the moment.
Toxicrenes certainly have been a little underwhelming the past couple outings. I have gone second each of those times and they are kind of the designated ones to die first. I could see switching them out for carnifexes or Tyrannofex. To be honest I think this list is stronger with one walkrant switched out with an acid spray fex. I just won't be able to finish the model in time. Only real swap I could do would be to take out the toxicrene for a maleceptor. With a mix of T6-T8 I think the -1 Strength bonus would just shift shots to the Trygons. If it shifted shots to the maleceptor that would be worth it but at 2 CP it is a big CP drain. I don't know he works in this list.
He did have 4 characters that was something I missed. I would have liked that more then To the Last. I should have that as one of my pre-game checks. I had considered it an option but did not think about it at the time we played. I should make a priority list or something to help me determine secondaries. I unfortunately have no infantry for ROD. I think a better version of this list drops some tyrants and rippers for warriors and lictors. Then ROD and raise the banners are opened up to me plus it is still in the bigger bugs theme. But that is a later expansion I need to make purchases toward. This is a bringing what I have style army
