Wonder if Carnifexes will get a rule like this in new codex?

Unfortunately now that there is a minimum buy in of 5 points we will never be a true horde.

4 Gaunts to a Marine is laughable. 3 Horms is even worse somehow. It should be closer to the ratio of Gaunt-Custodes but meh. What do we know? We just buy their regurgitated gruel and ask for more.

Four gaunts to a marine was fine last edition. Unfortunately now that marines are two wounds apiece it’s more like we get 2 gaunts per marine.

Either that or some sort of built in 'endless swarm' type rules that allow their numbers to be replenished somehow without buying and painting 200 of them.

I agree on the painting also on the playing side it doesn't seem like good design.

I would like to see some kind of endless swarm but have no idea how to implement it yet it doesn't end up like necrons from 8th (either it does nothing or it's so oppressive of you don't know how to deal with it).

How about just have it work the way it's written as a stratagem? If an infantry unit dies you can bring it back into play by spending 2cp and bringing it in. If it's just gant's/gaunts then it's fine.

Hell orks can bring back 29 models with their stratagem and they're less hordy than us.

A Tervigon could be an interesting swarm support monster if it:

1) gets a Warp Shield invulnerable save like every other Tyranid psyker in the codex...
2) triggers a synapse backlash only on 6+
2) keeps its current brood replenishment/spawning

and then
3) gives a single brood within 6" a reanimation-like protocol for a turn on 2+, respawned gants must be deployed within coherency of the original brood and within 6" of the Tervigon.
4) gets a stratagem to boost it to multiple gaunt broods (+1CP for each extra brood)

5) a character-like upgrade table to make a Venomous or Devouring Tervigon that can spawn gants with toxin sacs or devourers.

Synapse in general - Models within Synapse range should require only one other model within 2" to be in coherency, even if their unit has more than 5 models. Models outside Synapse range would fall under normal coherency rules.

That should give us more maneuverability and represent well our superior coordination.

I'd love for tervigons to just become t10 instead of invulns, with like 30% more wounds like 18 to 20 wounds. Not be a HQ slot and be cheaper if you bring a unit of 30 gants.

Invulns just don't do it for our flavour I think i prefer what they're doing to the orks for flavour. High T bad saves lots of wounds.

I really feel like the way we should build our armies is take a unit of gribblies and then some bigger unit becomes cheaper. Bring a unit of 30 horma's and now you can bring a 3 unit carnifex brood for like 200 points. Bring terma's and now your tervigon is 150 points and is an elite option.

Bring warriors and now your exocrine/tfex is cheaper. Bring Lictors, now your mawloc/trygons are cheaper etc.

We shouldn't be building lists like normal factions should and our units shouldn't operate the same way that other armies should. 

Things like an army wide adaptive ability that we get in the pregame each time we're fighting an enemy we can just choose to do things like ignore -1 ap armywide, regenerate wounds armywide, +1 to save armywide etc before the game starts is really fluffy and just make it a 1cp cost so then we don't have to pick it pregame we can just swap it every time we fight a new list in tournaments. Because that's exactly what nids would do, understand the thing they're fighting and adapt their army to deal with that threat.
