I bought 3 recast dimes and I don’t feel bad about it. That is revenue gw could have captured if they weren’t hyper focussed on new imperial content. Good luck!
I am with Nidzy here for a few reasons:
1: 3d printing is MORE dangerous to the hobby than recasting has ever been. I have seen entire 3d printed armies, or entire loadouts printed out of the garage. At best people buy a model or few recast (almost always out of print.) Somehow justifying thousands of dollars removed from GW is ok but a couple models? Heresy..
2. GW has this wonderful model where they sell all the tshirts but the red ones (Imperial) have the most styles, and best pricing. I mean you can buy the yellow shirt or green one but they have been sitting in the sun for over a year and there is only 1 box somewhere. Tyranids are that faded box. If a Dima helps then I say do it.
3. Everyone wants Nids to be melee when they have arguably never been good at it, and with 3 new options from FW that brings us to 4 choices now for melee. FW just showed how little they care to keep their rules updated (or at all) in the compendium. Legends.. So there is that too.
At the end of the day if 3d printing is integral then so is recast. They serve the same purpose filling supply when there is demand. Also, if it weren't for 3rd party doing this we never would have the GW we do now from the Chapter House issue.
I don't advocate illegal activity, but saying 1 is good for the hobby while the other isn't is dumb.
