Utilizing the Smash Flyrant

I’m confused. Does a smash tyrant throw devilgaunts now? I must have missed that in the new FAQ.

So to bring the topic I started full circle, how do we feel about flyrants that are 15 pts cheaper? Is murderous size still worth it if you’re only running one pair of scything talons? Say you’re running a monster list and have 2 acidfexes you plan on pushing midfield in leviathan, do you dermic them, or go murderous size on flyrants with scy tals and heavy venom cannon?

I think the 5++ is too important. Also don't think single scy tals are worth over MRC, or even if a flyrant is worth without size/Swarmlord, even with points drop (4 attacks is so meh).

That 5++ is less important than double wounds is - on an AcidFex, that's the diff between S7 and S5, affecting Gravis and tanks in general.

If a Smashrant is now going down to 3D instead of 4D (meaning not using Murderous on it), I see absolutely no need for it, and would be going back to a general support Flyrant with MRC and Devs or HVC. Having a pair of these running around will cause a lot of havoc tagging things while other monsters are tearing it up.

Flyrants are still the best bullies in our codex, and in Kraken they will be just forever in peoples faces messing things up.

Oh, didn't realise that acidfex degraded in weapon profile: had been thinking it wasn't important due to auto hits. Definitely want that then, yeah.

Smash flyrants are still the bully, its just the prison bully who go after that 300 pound fat guy no one wants to even bother with (superheavies)

My next game is going to be a behe rush down featuring the smash and a dima being supported by exo and others.


Its brute force is very hard to deny and even harder to replicate its threat range
