New Hive Fleet in the upcoming codex?

I was in the library the other day, in the restricted section... and I came across something that was rather odd. A hive fleet that’s hosts don’t get obliterated after hails of fire. Sounds legendary I would love to get to use hive fleet Tiamet in the new codex.

Is this a rumor you've heard somewhere or are you just pitching your own idea?

It's unlikely that we get a new hive fleet in the new codex (whenever it comes out). The necrons are the big bad guys of this edition an a new tyranid hive fleet would detract from that. If anything we could get a new splinter fleet or an ominous warning of something coming in 9th edition.

Don't the cons and orks have 7 casts each? Heavens only know how many SM have. No matter what though, we will get custom fleets.

Just my own hopeful idea, thought it would be fun to discuss. I was just reading into the 8th edition codex and don’t understand why they have an introduction for Hive Fleet Tiamet similar to the other hive fleets but it’s not it’s own playable hive fleet.

You’re probably right it just felt like 8th edition teased something that never came with the massive continent sized bio structure emitting ridiculous amounts of psychic energy. I thought maybe in 9th something might happen with that.I guess maybe it was them making the forgeworld units playable and pretty good though lol.

Doom of Malan'Tai is still somewhere, alive and waiting (or so i think correct me if i am wrong), and now that Hierodules went to the HS, we could use a new LoW, and since Doom has synapse, it could rebuild hive fleet naga, then it could added as a LoW model, or perhaps an HQ/Supreme Command, and its newly reborn Hive Fleet that would be focused on Psychics (cause Naga was known for fighting a lot of eldar, and tyranids are known to like "absorb" whatever they fight with, and eldar are quite psychic focused) could be added

They do this for the marines as well. They had an article about how someone's custom chapter made it into the codex as an official fluff chapter.

Ouroborus and Tiamat will be the two we get when they add them. 8th codex was prepped for it, I would have put money on them coming in psychic awakening.

Don't forget that they teased us again in the 9th BRB. Aeldari/Drukhari/Ynnari are involved to defend that world Laevenir against Ouroboros (they gave them 2 pages for that warzone)
They also mentioned some kind of new unknown bioforms on the tyranid side and also mentionend some rare alien species living on that planet that can somehow manipulate time and the Aledari try to prevent ouroboros from getting any of that DNA at all costs.
So maybe we will get something time manipulating psyker things. Or bugs like that tom cruise movie (edge of tomorrow or how it was called)
Or my guess would be: nothing at all (except maybe a minor old model update like they did with some psychic awakening stuff) and just another unused opportunity by GW
