Warlord plust Adaptive Physiology

Greetings my hive kin, just wanted to touch basis on a tactic i use (and making sure its legal). One of the things i started doing is giving the Swarmlord an Adaptive Physiology trait while a different unit is the Warlord and gets the Warlord trait (cause i dont care for his regular Warlord trait). What are your guys opinion and what trait combos do you guys use?

Since the FAQ special characters can’t have adaptive physiologies. So that bit isn’t legal.
If it were a normal tyrant or other unit then what your doing would be perfectly legit.

Btw, which warlord trait are you using? I was happy to be done with them as they don’t offer much

The idea is legal (bar above comment about special characters specifically), though you do need to use the strat to do so.

Swarmlord requires a specific warlord trait if he is such that only lets him to be replaced in a different location at start of battle, but i always run him with guard and they cant move with him, thats why i give him an adaptive physiology, also where does it say special characters cant have them? I've looked up and down the codex and blood of Baal books and found no such saying they cant.

thats what i do, spend the command point for the stratagem for the AP.

Unfortunately Swarmlord and any other special character can't get any adaptive physiology.

But you can still have a special character as your Warlord and renounce to his WL trait for an adaptive physiology on something else.

damn, that completely ruins nearly all my builds. I mean Swarmlords warlord trait feels like it should belong to a lictor or something. also who's idea was that?

No one is suggesting you ever use Swarmlord's warlord trait. It's garbage. However, most of the tyranid warlord traits are garbage. Very rarely would I ever use a warlord trait over an adaptive physiology.

When Adaptive Physiology first came out, almost everyone used it on Swarmlord. It was really nice. Some people didn't use it because they assumed it would be reverted in the FAQ and they were right. The FAQ disappointed us yet again. Sorry for your loss.

If you have a different character in your list who isn't unique, you can just call them your warlord. There is no rule saying if you have a Swarmy he has to be the warlord. Thematically he kind of should, but no rule states that.

If the Swarmlord was as good a syragrist as he is, he would really insist on not being your warlord. In fact, he died quite often so some neoronthrope with the charactet anri snipe rule could be your warlord.
