Brand new to 40k - List help needed

Hi all,

Im a hobby painter and bought in to Tyranids during the lock down. Ended up getting a while bunch of stuff from different marketplaces and have got a nice selection of units. Me and a few friends are going to start playing some games when the strictness is lifted so would be nice to understand what I have, what lists to build and how to use it.

My current list is:

Hive Tyrant magnetised
Broodlord
Tervigon magnetised to convert to Tyrannofex

Exocrine
Trygon

36 termagants 10 devourer 22 Fleshborer 4 unbuilt

12 hormagaunts

20 genestealers

3x warriors + 1x ripper swarm (3 models)

If I could get a 500pt and then a 1000pt list for this, that would be awesome. Would really appreciate any guidance

You could try a kraken patrol with
broodlord

18 stealers
i ripper unit
tryanid warrios with bio cannon, bone swords and devourers
10 hormogaunts

A bit of everything and try out.

Ok cool, and for the warriors I think they are currently kitted out with deathspitters and scything talons. Is that generally OK to just say they are devourers and bones words?

Im thinking of snipping the scythes off and turning them upside down to look more like sword though.

Auction didn't come with any extras and don't really want to buy a weapons sprue for them.

You want deathspitters 100%. Scy tals vs boneswords is less cut and dried: it depends on your meta as to how strict people will be with WYSIWYG. Personally haven't had any problems, but also haven't tried to take them to a tournament or anything.

The meta is going to be a few friends at the moment so I'm sure it'll be fine for now. Just thinking down the road. 

Should i have kitted out one of those warriors with a bio cannon?
