1k Army list for local tournament need help

Hi guys i am entering my local tournament and need any help making my 1k list. I like more of the horde/melee side of tyranids and was wondering if there are any viable lists i can do?

You can run a battalion like thus
HQ: Neurothrope and Malanthrope

Troops: 4 x 30 termagaunts

Elite: 6 hive guard

That leaves 52 points to pop in somewhere else. Swap a unit of terms for horms? Another unit of 12 terms? Biovore for board control and shutting off sappers?

It's a good list and most people are ready for 150 bodies at 1,000 points.

What type of mission will it be and do you want more horde or more hard hitting melee?

You could either go for board control with lots of termagants and some hormagants and gargoyles. Combine that with either some hive guard, broodlord or zoanthropes for some killing power or just fan out and die slow enough to win on objectives.
The other option is go all out genestealers with something like
2*20 GS, some hormagants, broodlord Swarmlord

They only caution on that is it's a REALLY skewed list without any alternatives outside the bum rush. You have to make a turn 1 charge with this or you most likely already lose the game.

But yeah, if it's hordes, matt's list is probably the best. For melee, stealers and Swarmlord. As above, that can be very skewed, and difficult to play, but is very powerful.

Biovore for board control and shutting off sappers?

I'm not sure how it does that? They can just ignore it and tank the mortal. And a single biovore for board control...eh. Does work well with Kronos though.

It's more than that: making a T1 charge is easy. You also need to make it in reasonable numbers (usually OK as long as you don't go 2nd on bad terrain) and confirm good hostages. So you'll roll stuff like IG (and honestly, outside TFC which I wouldn't pick as an auto take at 1k, possibly even into some marine builds, though of course less 'roll' and more 'favoured'). But will really struggle into, say, DE or Tau.
