I need more anti tank. What to get?

I have tryed carnifexes with heavy venom cannons. I do not like them. I have tryed the walkerant with the new venom cannon relic. I liked that a lott.

I need good anti tank in 2000 points. 6 hiveguards is not near enough. How is the rupture canon? I am considering comverting my tervigon into one. I have not used my two tetvigons since 5th/6th edition. I do not own an exorshrine, and I do not play enough to justefy buying one.

Old one eye is also good against T8. My opponent is usualy a mech Ork, and T8 is hard!

The rupture Canon is good as long as your opponent doesn't have any negative to hit modifiers. Old one eye is good if he can get there. To that end Swarmlord is also really good with either behemoth power or reroll wounds strat

If you can get him in, a Flyrant with Scyth of Tyran + Murderous Size + Behemoth Spell + Reroll Wounds will wreck many things. If there is no invul, it will average 16W I think, but has potential to deal 24W rather often.

It will wreck a Cent unit by itself without Transhuman, and destroy half a unit with Transhuman. You can force people to spend 4cp just by bombarding it with 1 Exo round in shooting, then charging this Flyrant into them, assuming he survives OW mostly intact. And assuming you make the charge, which is my main gripe.

Other than that, HG double shooting is taken as the anti - tank option with some springing into 12. 6 work fine if the rest of your list also pulls duty.

Behemoth GS can actually rend open T7 tanks with behemoth spell. Against T8 they're theoretically capable of doing 20W too, but dice can be fickle, I did 7W before saves when I should be doing 16 or 17. I wouldn't do it again without a reroll available.

Exos are about as efficient as HG now, so having 1 is a good investment if you want to play more, in a pod, as a tech choice. If you can't justify it, then you don't have great options more other than what's stated.

Fexen with HVC is more support than main anti tank, so I would say you need at least 6 for that to make sense.

Ive been running a harpy lately and love him he usually gets ignored and 30" move with 2 HVC @ 36" and 4 shots at 24. I usually keep him behind my lines for 2-3 turns then swoop him in for mortals and charges turn 3 and 4

This pretty much describes my list. I went 5 - 0 this past weekend at a Major with it. Having that Flyrant (who I have started to call 'Super Flyrant') combined with Swarmlord for a reliable 40" threat range is a huge boost. Genestealers of course also love Unstoppable Hunger. And a KRONOS battalion can fit into the same list giving you an Exo and 6 HG and their new spell for exploding 6s.

zimko what I never understood is how your Flyrant and SL survive. Launch The Flyrant leaves SL super exposed, so the Flyrant better do work. If you go 2nd, the Flyrant is the key MC target to kill, the GS are the key infantry target to kill, and SL can be left to last. Could you share why you feel no one felt like focusing on the Flyrant?

I'm considering a Behemoth Trygon Prime with Murderous Size and Arachnyte Gland for the same function, saving like 300pts for the SL and Flyrant excess points, but no idea how to fit this into my current theory list.

Yeah, I was playing 800 pts and even deploying my flyrant literally as far away as I could (still within charge range ), he was at least bracketed, sometimes almost dropped outright T1. Swarmlord was fine with terrain, so reserve may have been a play, but waiting 2/3 turns to be useful? Eh.

Large ruins. All the major tournaments in and around Virginia use large L shaped ruins that a Flyrant can usually hide behind. The Major this weekend had 2 L shaped ruins per table that could hide a flyrant and it was Adepticon missions so the players placed the terrain. I just made sure at least one deployment zone had an L in it to hide a Flyrant. Then hoped to win the rolloff for choosing sides. There are some matchups where it doesn't matter (like Daemon super friends. Magnus, Morty, 3 discolords, 2 daemon princes and psychers) but when it did matter... I won the roll-off (it mattered in 2 games. All the other games my opponent also wanted a wall to hide behind so either deployment zone would have worked for me).

When I do spring the combo, my opponent has target saturation to deal with. The Super Flyrant is in their face and must be dealt with first. Then there's 2 units of Genestealers that are now within striking distance without Swarmlord's help. Sometimes there's also an Exocrine if I decided not to deep strike it. And there's a dakka flyrant sitting on an objective shooting from 26". So Swarmlord falls pretty low on the target priority list and so far has always made it to turn 3.

More hive guard. Mass ridge runners. Acolytes with rock saws. Kronos exos with Kronos strat. All are decent options. Outside of the that I found the rest pretty underwhelming.
