Most people think it will be Endless Spells - 40K editition. Personally Im not too sure about that.

Endless Spells are popular, generally accepted as a default always included rule in the typical pickup game and feature in most tournaments. For GW its also a product line that they can order from China, so it has no real impact on their Nottingham production facilities. So in general its easy money for them and the detailing on them fits what the Chinese factories can output at a reliable quality and volume for GW. In short whilst I'd personally like them to remain an AoS feature to have differences between the games; I'd honestly be surprised if GW didn't do Endless spells for 40K at this stage.

I'm fully expecting that to be the reveal; a major new release that will affect all the factions of the game. Even factions that don't have psychers can get in on the fun with their own specialist sets that might be nanomachine clouds or some such.

I expect it will be the reveal, while hoping they keep that (please do not swear) out of 40k.

Unless it's cool as (please do not swear), and not dumb cartoony (please do not swear).

It's a good guess, but nowhere near of a sure bet. After branching out into Aos (currently painting up a Seraphon army), I am more surprised that GW did not already port over the faction terrain mechanic to 40k. Most faction terrain in AoS is a) actually useful and b) costs zero points. I mean generally speaking selling big models that don't have a point cost is a real nice "evil genius" type of move.

GW did start with faction terrain in 40K, it just came at the very end of them updating all the Codex. Chaos and Genestealers both got faction terrain and were some of the latest codex after GW had tested the waters and found they worked for AoS. I figure they'll roll out more steadily, but might wel tie it to codex or major updates.

Yeah, but faction terrain for 40k is quite different from AoS because it does cost points and the rules are so horrible that even casual players avoid it.

The giant bio-beacon Hive Fleet Tiamat was building comes online and sends out a psychic pulse to ring the dinner bell for the main Tyranid force sleeping in deep space.

Said psychic pulse burns out a bunch of psyker brains but also awakens plenty more. Which is fine for the Tyranids because Shadow in the Warp.

That wishlist aside, it's probably endless spells like AoS which is gonna be mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Here's hoping that it will revamp the dreadful psychic phase entirely for 40k because 50% of our monsters are psykers that can't fully leverage their powers due to Psychic Disipline rules...

I have been speculating that each force gets around 2 more subfactions. Tiamat and Ourobois for Nids.

Template there for many armies already, and GW is clearly invested in long term projects now and not so much "ta da! We made this random thing. Way more structured release in 8th.

Some potential is there, but also lots of potential to F it up. And with the Sisters release (extremely well deserved for sure) and the SM supplements the 40k release schedule is once again chock full of Imperium releases.

Yet another undead faction for AoS is very disappointing, and the Warcry expansion sounds pretty boring.

Death only has 3 armies to its name, its the current smallest of the 3 Grand Alliances - Destruction running a close second (or at least will once Ogors and Orruks battletomes are out - taking that to a 3 army Grand Alliance too). So its a fitting addition considering that Chaos and Order have a LOT more variety within the game. I also freaking love the new Death army. They look like Idoneth, Tyranids and Skeletons all got mashed together and then someone spent an evening watching Skeleton Warriors from the 90s and BAM battle forged skeleton warriors!

Warcry is surprising only in as much as they've not announced a second wave of regular army stat cards and that this expansion is a book rather than stat cards, but its adding more monsters and models so that's a good thing in my view.

Tiamat Zoanthorpe count as troops choice, smith range increase 18” and movement +3 to all Psykers models...
